广东省东莞市翰林实验学校2025-2026学年五年级上学期英语期末试题

Yesterday afternoon five people got on a bus at the bus station: one man, two women and two children. The bus left the station1 nine o'clock. It had to 2 at the corner because the traffic lights were 3 . The bus turned left after the traffic lights. The bus didn't stop at the first bus stop, but drove straight on 4 there weren't any people waiting there and no one wanted to get off. The bus turned right at the next corner and drove over the bridge. At the second bus stop, outside the school, the two children and the man got off and nine more people got on. Then the bus went into the train station 5 ten people got off and twelve more got on. The bus drove out of the station, turned left and went straight on to the end of the road.

Last July, Sarah went on holiday with her mum and dad. On the first morning, they went to an art museum to look at some. They walked for hours. At one o'clock, they were tired and hungry. So they decided to go and eat something. There was a restaurant  the street, where Sarah ate a big pizza and drank some tea. After lunch, they visited an old castle. It was one of the  beautiful castles in the country, on a hill above the river. Sarah and her parents loved it. But when they were leaving, the ground suddenly started to move. It moved for about two  and then it stopped. "What was that?" Dad asked. "I think it was an earthquake!" said Mum. "Don't worry," said Dad. "The buildings aren't going to  down." He was right. It was only a very small earthquake, but Sarah had some exciting news to tell her friends when she got home.

It was Tuesday. The science teacher, Mrs Wood, took the class to visit a science museum. It was an interesting museum, but Martin and his friends didn't like it. "This is boring." said Martin. When the science teacher wasn't looking, Martin and his friends ran to the park. They played in the park for half an hour, but then they were bored again. It was only 11 o'clock. So they went to the river. "This is fun!" said Martin. But when he was playing by the water, he fell in. The river was moving very quickly and he couldn't swim very well. 

"Let's go and get the teacher." said Martin's friends. So they ran to the museum and found her.

"Mrs Wood! Please come quickly! Martin is in the river!"

The teacher ran to the river. She could swim very well, so she jumped in and helped Martin. Martin was feeling terrible when he climbed out of the river. He was wet, cold and sad. He said "I'm sorry, Mrs Wood. I was very naughty."

In June the class went to the city to visit the castle. This time Martin was good. He stayed next to the history teacher all the time.
