Dr. Caspar Addyman, psychologist at the University of London, said babies naturally understand the importance of sharing laughter. "Babies can make you laugh and you can make them laugh" he said. "It's all about connection. "  Laughter means that we are part of a group and we like them. 

So, spending time with people we care about is the quickest and easiest way to reduce stress and improve our health condition. It's pretty fun, too.

At the age of 19, Abraham Lincoln took a boat down the Ohio River to New Orleans. There Lincoln saw for the first time slaves being sold in the marketplace. At that time, Lincoln made up his mind to work to end slavery for the rest of his life. 

In 1836, Lincoln became a lawyer and was famous for being hard-working and honest. He believed that the US stood for freedom for all. He wanted to become a senator (参议员）. In 1858, Lincoln debated (争论）against Stephen Douglas who was also a candidate for the Senate from Illinois.

Unfortunately, Lincoln was shot while watching a play at Ford's Theatre and passed away on the morning of April 15, 1865.

Lightweight plastic in cars and planes help reduce oil use and emissions. If we didn't use so much plastic in clothing and footwear, we need plenty of land, water and other things for enough natural products. The fact that plastic lasts for centuries is what causes much of the environmental harm, but it also means it can be used to make things that can be re-used again and again. Plastic can cause serious harm to the environment, and efforts to throw less of it away can reduce this. Re-using it more could be one way to achieve this. 

The "Global Youth Leaders" program, which aims to build cultural bridges, successfully held its annual conference in Shanghai last month. Over 800 students from around the world gathered for this exciting event. 

Li Hua, a student from Shanghai, said that one of the main(reason) for him to join the program was the opportunity to make international friends. The conference was also  wonderful chance for Li Hua to practice his English. When he first started communicating with the foreign students, he found their accents quite (challenge). "But I quickly got used to it. I felt proud when I could express my ideas clearly," he said (exciting). 

Emma Smith, a participant from Canada, said, " I had seen pictures of Shanghai in books, experiencing the city in person was unbelievable. " She added that she managed (learn) some basic Chinese phrases during her stay. 

Besides (attend) the conference, these young people also experienced Chinese culture through activities paper cutting, calligraphy, and visiting the Bund. They gained a deeper insight into the rapid development of modern China. 

Mr. Chen, the program director, said, "So far, this program (bring) together more than 5,000 young people. This year's event was the largest in (we) history. We believe such exchanges will create a brighter future for all. "
