① The Christmas party is over. The gifts are opened. The Christmas tree has finished its work. Every year, people around the world buy lots of trees for Christmas. In 2022, people in Americabought 20-30 million trees! But where do the trees go after the holiday?

② Many countries recycle(回收) the Christmas trees. For example, in Berlin, people take off toys from the trees and leave the trees on the streets. The trees will be sent to the power stations. Every year, Berlin recycles about 350, 000 trees. They can make electricity(电) for 500 families to use for a year. 

③ In New York. people always send their trees to parks. There, the trees are cut into small pieces. The wood pieces are used in gardens to keep the plants warm. 

④ In some countries, many Christmas trees are sent to zoos. Once a year, elephants in Austria get their favorite food. The trees taste sweet.

Sergio is from Cuba(古巴). He was excited to visit Chengdu last summer vacation because he is fond of pandas. Yeah, pandas are his favorite animals. Even his social media account(社交账户)is called Panda Latino!

Not surprisingly, Sergio took a trip to Chengdu and his first stop was the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding(成都大熊猫培育基地). There he took quite a few photos of pandas. He also learned a lot about their favorite food bamboo. 

In Chengdu, bamboo products are everywhere in people's everyday life, like bamboo tables, chairs and bags. The next stop of Sergio's trip was the Bamboo Art Village. There he learned how to make a bamboo panda, but it was not easy for him. 

Then the man got to the Chengdu Botanical Garden (植物园). There he saw many kinds of plants. A worker there showed him another good place to enjoy the beauty of plants, so he made his way to Xiling Snow Mountain. The mountain is home to over 2, 000 different plants. Wild pandas live in the mountain, too. What's more, it is a good place for people to do snow sports in winter. 

Sergio' s last stop was the International Horticulture Exhibition(世界园艺博览会) in Chengdu. There he enjoyed flowers from all over the world. 

Sergio really had an enjoyable time in Chengdu!

All around the world, people drink tea.  Here are some countries and their tea-drinking habits. 

 The Chinese drink it at any time of the day at home or in teahouses. They like todrink plain tea(素茶) best. 

Tea is very important in Japan. The Japanese have a special way of serving tea called the"tea ceremony (茶道)".  People do everything in a special way in the ceremony. There is even a special room for it in Japanese homes. 

Another tea drinking country is England, and the late afternoon is people's"teatime". Almost everyone has a cup of tea then. The British usually make tea in a teapot and drink it with milk and sugar. 

In the United States people drink tea mostly for breakfast or after meals. Americans usually use tea bags to make their tea.  In summer, many Americans drink"iced tea". 

Your school days should be some of the best and happiest days of your life.  can you get the most from them, and make sure you do not waste this excellent chance to learn?

Be active at school. Never say that things are difficult or (bore). You should be interested  school life and different subjects. Take part in as many (activity)as possible. 

Put your hands up (quick) in class. Go around the school with  big smile on your face. If you do not work, you will waste your time at school. Teachers cannot make everything enjoyable for you so try to do it by (you). 

Keep fit.  you do not have breakfast, you will be thinking about food in class. If you go to bed late and do not have enough sleep, you will be sleepy in class. Playing sports over one hour every day can keep your body strong. 

Face the problem. Do not say that you (do) the things tomorrow. If you get behind the class, you will have problems catching up with others. Don't forget to ask for help. You are young and no one  (think) you must do everything quite well.
