Lin Baoshan is 92 years old now, and was a doctor and a magazine editor before he retired. In 1997, doctors told him his wife had leukemia (白血病). She needed chemotherapy, and it was very painful. To help her feel better, Lin Baoshan bought an American magazine called "Short Story". He sat next to her bed and translated the stories into Chinese, word by word. Then he read them aloud to her. These stories helped his wife forget her pain for a while. They also showed how much Lin Baoshan loved her.

His wife died in 2004. Lin Baoshan was very sad, but he wanted people to read the stories. He put his translations (翻译) into a book. He called it "Looking for Someone". The book has 36 stories from 19 countries. Lin Baoshan paid for the printing himself. Then he started selling the book on the streets of Guangzhou, near subway stations. He went out every evening. He did not eat or drink until the last subway train went home. Over 22 years, he has sold more than 10,000 books. In every book, he writes his name and these words: "A friend far away is still a friend."

For Lin Baoshan, selling books is not just about money or stories. It is a way to talk to his wife. The book is called "Looking for Someone". That "someone" is his wife. He is still looking for her. Every time he writes his name in a book, he thinks of her. Every time he talks to a reader, he remembers her. He keeps his love for her alive through his words.

Do you know about the SIGISMONDI Cup U12? It is a famous youth football game held in Italy. It has a history of 31 years and gathers top U12 teams from across Europe every year. For over thirty years, only European teams could win this well-known cup.

On June 2nd, 2025, a wonderful football story happened here. The China Junior Football Team for kids born in 2013 won this hard competition. This is a historic victory!

There were just 14 players, all common 12-year-old students. They played seven matches in total and won all of them. The team scored 21 goals and only let 2 goals in during the whole tournament.

They became the first team outside Europe to win the cup in its 31-year history.

In the group stage, they played three games and did not lose a single goal. They beat Italian TTT 2-0, Danish Copenhagen 5-0 and Italian GGR 7-0. Later in the knockout games, they kept winning against strong teams like Fiorentina and Braga.

The final match was really exciting. The two teams drew (打平) after regular time and went to a penalty (点球) shootout. Goalkeeper Chen Siyuan saved two penalties bravely. At last, Meng Xinyi kicked the winning penalty. The final score was 5-4.

All the players worked hard and showed great team spirit. They brought pride to China. This amazing win will inspire more young kids to love football.

The Karez, also called Kan'erjing, is  ancient underground water system. It is well-known across the dry areas of Xinjiang in China. For  of years, this great project has helped people make the desert lively. It is a  work of ancient engineering.

Karez  water from melted snow on faraway mountains. Workers dug many deep vertical (竖直的) wells on hillsides.  wells are connected by long, slow-sloping underground tunnels (地道). The water runs through the tunnels for kilometers  oases (绿洲) and farmland.  the water runs underground, it is safe from strong heat and dry winds, so very little water is lost to evaporation.

Thanks to this smart design, local people  plants and tasty sweet grapes here for more than 2,000 years. It proves that people's talent can beat tough  conditions. Many Karez are still used today. They keep the ancient  alive for us.

Manau Zongge is a traditional holiday of the Jingpo people in Yunnan, China. It was listed as a national cultural treasure in 2006.

"Look, it's coming! So cute!" I was surprised to hear my grandma laughing happily in the nursing home. Grandma has stayed here for months. She felt lonely and quiet most of the time, and seldom smiled. I never thought she would cheer up so much all of a sudden. When I walked closer, I finally knew why.

Lulu has served here for nearly two years. It has a round white body, big bright eyes and a soft voice. It can chat casually (随便地), sing old folk songs that the elders love, and even perform funny little moves to make everyone laugh. Whenever the seniors feel bored, sad or stressed, Lulu will stay by their side quietly. It listens patiently to their past stories, responds (回应) softly to every word, and shares interesting little happenings around the nursing home. Doctors say stress and loneliness slow down people's mood and health, but this lovely robot is like a ray of sunshine, easily driving away all the bad feelings.

I watched grandma gently touch Lulu's head and chat with it. For a while, she completely forgot her tiredness and loneliness. These warm moments mean a lot to the elderly. Grandma now looks forward not only to my visits, but also to meeting Lulu every day.

I hope more therapy robots can come to help people in need. When I grow up, I also want to do something to bring happiness to those who feel lonely.
