There are many lakes in China. Today, let's learn something about lakes.

Lake Tai: It is a freshwater lake in Jiangsu. There is a Fishing Festival every year. Fishing lovers go to Lake Tai to fish and enjoy the fishing. It is a really good place for fishing.

Qiandao Lake: It is a clear freshwater lake with beautiful hills and great forests. There are many kinds of fish in the lake. You can't see some of them in other places in China.

Yangcheng Lake: It is between Lake Tai and the Yangtze River. It is a freshwater lake and is famous for one of its products (产品)—Chinese mitten crabs, a kind of Chinese crab.

Baiyun Lake: It is a man-made lake. People built (建造) it in the city. In summer, the wind is pleasant. It's a good place to go fishing and spend a holiday in summer.

Kanu and Timo are brothers. They like playing football very much. They often play it with their friends after school.

One day, Mum asks them to buy some eggs so she can make lunch for the family. When the brothers make their way to the shop, they see some of their friends playing football on a field.

"Let's play football for a short time first, and then go to the shop," Kanu says to Timo.

Timo agrees. Then the brothers go to the field and play with their friends. They have a lot of fun and lose track of time (忘记时间). "Oh, no, we have to buy eggs now."

Kanu and Timo run to the shop, buy some eggs and go home quickly (迅速地). "Sorry. Mum. We are late," the brothers say. "We play football and lose track of time."

"Boys, it's OK. But next time, do important work before playing, OK?" Mum says.

Do you know what "the lungs (肺) of the earth" are?

The huge forest in South America is in the Amazon area. The Amazon rainforest is across eight countries and it covers an area of 7,000,000 square kilometers. It can produce about 20% of the world's oxygen (氧气). That's why the Amazon rainforest is called "the lungs of the earth".

The Amazon rainforest has the richest kinds of living things in the world. It's home to millions of species (物种) of plants and animals, so it is also known as "the animal and plant kingdom (王国) of the world".

But now its rainforest is in great danger because people cut down trees to sell. This act not only harms (破坏) the rainforest, but also causes the plants and animals that live there to lose their homes.

We must work together to protect the rainforest.

The school bus usually arrives on time. So it's a good idea to arrive at the bus stop at least five minutes early. When waiting, be sure to stay in the safe place and never walk into the street to look for the bus. Remember, the bus stop is not a playground.  Because you may fall and get hurt.

When the school bus arrives, be careful when you are around the school bus. If you drop something near the school bus, the safe thing is to tell the driver first.  Because the driver must be very careful when driving.

Always wait until the bus comes to a full stop. When the door opens and the driver says it's safe to get on or off, line up and don't push anyone. You can hold the handrails (扶手) so that you won't fall down.

 Never put your head, hands, or any part of your body out of the window. Some students may leave their bags in the bus aisle (过道), but this is not safe.  For example, sometimes there may be an emergency (紧急情况), like an accident (事故) or a fire.

Chinese people have many healthy lifestyles. Drinking hot water is one of 1 .

The problem is that screens  (充满) most of our lives. Everything  (似乎) fun on the phone. So we forget to exercise. To be healthy, we should go outside at least  (一次) a day. Put down your phone to enjoy the  (色彩鲜艳的) world!

Tuesday, 9 June

Today we had a big family dinner. That's because today was my (grandma) birthday.

In the morning, my parents and I  (go) to the market. We bought a lot of fresh food, like vegetables. When we got home, we started  (cook) the dishes. My mum cooked the fish.  (it) smelled (闻) so good. My dad made a delicious beef steak. I helped wash the vegetables.

In the evening,  all the food was ready (准备好的) on the table, it looked great. There was also  big cake and some fruits. My family sat  the table. We talked, laughed and shared the food happily. We told funny  (story) during the dinner.

Everyone was happy. I gave my grandma a big hug and said "Happy birthday". This family dinner was  (real) special. It made our family warmer than before. Today was a day to remember. Now I'm looking forward  my birthday party.
