Charity（慈善）shops are special stores that sell donated items（捐赠物） to raise money for good causes. In countries like the UK, USA and Canada, they are often called"thrift stores". The word"thrifty"means being careful with money and not wasting things. These shops sell second-hand clothes, books, and toys at low prices. Some also sell products（产品）made by people in poor areas. All the money helps different charities that support medical research, animal welfare（福利）, and people in need. 

China has charity shops too. The first one opened in Shanghai in 2003. Now there are more than 200 charity shops in Shanghai's communities. The people working in these shops are volunteers. They don't get paid-they work to help others. Their job is to organize all the donated items. 

Charity shops do two important things. First, they raise money to help those in need. Second, they help the environment by reusing things instead of throwing them away. When you give or buy at a charity shop, you become part of this cycle of kindness that helps both people and our planet. 

There wasonce a fisherman who lived in a small house by the sea with his wife.One day,something very special happened.

Scene One [The fisherman's hut（棚屋）]. 

Fisherman: An amazing thing happened when I went fishing today! I caught a little golden fish. It could speak! It promised me whatever I wanted if I set it free. 

Wife: At last, fortune smiles upon us! What did you wish for?

Fisherman: Well . . . I felt sorry for the fish, so I just put it back into the sea. His wife was very angry and made him find the fish.

Scene Two [By the sea. ]

Fisherman: Little golden fish, are you there?

Golden fish: Hello, kind fisherman. What's the matter?

Fisherman: My wife was very angry because I didn't make a wish. We need a new pot. Please give us one!

The golden fish said yes,and it went back into the water.

Scene Three [The fisherman's hut. ]

Back home,the fisherman found a new pot outside the house.

Fisherman: Look, a new pot!

Wife: You fool! Can't you see we need a new house instead? Go back again and ask for one!

Scene Four [By the sea. ]

Fisherman: Little golden fish, are you still there?

Golden fish: Hello again, kind fisherman. 

Fisherman: My wife wants a new house! Can you help me please?

Again,the golden fish granted his wish.

Scene Five [The fisherman's hut. ]

The fisherman went back home. But his house was now big and beautiful. 

Fisherman: Wow! Our house looks amazing!

Wife: The house is nice, but I want to be rich too! Go back and ask for money!

……

With his wife's greed（贪婪）growing,they got nothing in the end and the magicgoldfish disappeared forever.

Anger（怒气）is a kind of feeling we may all have sometimes. Maybe you get angry when you fail a test, or when someone takes your things without asking. These feelings are normal.

Think about happy memories, like a fun trip or your favorite meal. Better yet, get moving!  Physical activity is a great way to let anger go away.

Remember, you can't control everything that happens, but you can choose how you respond（反应）. Not all things can happen in the way you want. Learn to be in control of anger. 

Last summer, my friend Alex and I went camping in the mountains. The weather was perfect when we started our trip. When we arrived, we put up a1 and cooked outside. We had great fun. 

On the second day, we walked in the mountains while taking 2 of the beautiful flowers and plants. By afternoon, thick fog（雾）covered the mountains. The trees looked the same, and our map seemed useless. Soon we realized we were 3 . "Don't be scared, "I told Alex4 my heart was beating fast. I remembered the survival（生存）rule: When lost, stay calm（冷静）。

Night fell, and temperatures dropped to near freezing. We built a small and simple place with branches（树枝）. When we5 animal sounds at night, we collected dry leaves and made a6 to keep warm and safe. And we used a flashlight to signal（发信号）towards the sky every five minutes. 

On the third morning, our water ran 7 . I climbed a tree and saw a river flowing west. But we didn't drink from it because8 water can be dangerous. I knew rivers often lead to villages so we decided to follow it. After 12 tiring hours, just as hope was dying, we saw a search helicopter（直升机）! I quickly used a mirror to reflect（反射）sunlight towards it. The 9 saw the signal and we were finally saved.

Among the many amazing animals in the world, few are as strange as the octopus（章鱼）。There are around 300 different kinds  octopuses. The smallest octopus is only around 2. 5 centimeters long. , some octopuses can grow up to more than five meters long. 

The octopus's body is very (interest). All octopuses have eight arms, which help them swim, catch food and move around rocks. Their brain is not just in their head, but also in their arms! This helps(they) to think about and do more than one thing at once. Do you know that octopuses have three hearts? These hearts work with different (part) of the body. 

Octopuses can also do many amazing things. Most of them can change their color and shape (look) like plants or other sea animals, and they can also make ink（墨汁）。They keep it inside  very small bag in their body. When they release（释放）ink, the ink (make) it hard for other animals to see them, so the octopuses can get away (quick). 

Scientists say octopuses are very smart. (study) amazing animals like the octopus is important because we can learn a lot from them. But they also show us how wonderful nature is!

Have you ever visited a history museum? Near Chengdu, China, there is a special museum called Sanxingdui. It holds ancient treasures from over 3, 000 years ago. These artifacts（古器物）change what we know about China's past. 

Inside the museum, you will see amazing things. There is a very tall bronze statue（青铜雕像）with big eyes and large ears. Golden masks（面具）are so thin that they look like they could float. The most interesting piece is a bronze tree with birds and dragons on its branches. Long ago, people may have believed this tree connected heaven（天堂）and earth. 

Sanxingdui is full of mysteries（神秘）. Scientists found these objects in 1986, but there are no writings to tell us about the people who made them. Who were they? Why did they disappear? When you visit, you can try to solve these puzzles（谜）yourself. 

The museum building looks modern. If you want to learn more about the ancient culture, you can use screens to see the artifacts closely. There is also a VR room that shows what life might have been like in this ancient culture. 

Sanxingdui teaches us that history still has many secrets. The more we learn, the more questions we have. Maybe the ancient people wanted us to keep wondering about them.
