Facial expressions are like a special window to our true feelings. They can tell us what others are thinking even when they don't say a word. 

When we feel anger, our eyebrows (眉毛) pull down and press together. Our eyes glare at something, and our lips become narrow. 

For fear, eyebrows are raised and pressed. Upper eyelids (眼睑) are raised, and lower eyelids are tight. The mouth is slightly open with ears stretched (伸展) horizontally. 

True happiness comes with a real smile. We can see crow's feet (鱼尾纹) at the corners of our eyes. Our cheeks (脸颊) rise, and small muscles (肌肉) around the eyes move. 

Surprise only lasts for one second: eyebrows rise, eyes become larger, and the mouth opens wide. 

When we are sad, upper eyelids droop. Our eyes lose focus, and the corners of our mouth pull down a little. 

For disgust, our nose wrinkles (起皱), and our upper lip rises.

We all want to do things well. For example, as students, all of us want to have a good performance in studies and get good grades. However, growing up also includes (包含) accepting when things go wrong.

Don't stress too much about everything going perfectly. Remember you're a common man. Humans make mistakes. Getting too hung up on whether things go as planned can put a lot of pressure on you and lead to worry. That's why it's good to leave some room for mistakes and imperfections.

You need to face mistakes to grow and get stronger. You have to experience the uncomfortable feeling when you get things wrong. This helps you develop inner strength. Or you'll be too scared to make mistakes. This fear can lead you to put off doing difficult things or avoid trying new things.

What matters most is how you move forward after a mistake. Try not to take it too seriously, blame (责备) yourself or feel too disappointed. Instead, think about what you might do differently next time. In one study, if students were reminded to be kind to themselves when they failed a test, they felt more encouraged to try again, while other students were less pleased to have a second try.

One day, our English teacher Mr. White came into the classroom with a book in his hand. He started his lesson with a question, "Who can describe what stress is like?" No one answered. Then he raised the book and asked, "How heavy is the book?"

On hearing the question, we began to think and guess. One student said, "I think it is 100g." A second student said, "It's 200g." We had many answers. Finally, Mr. White explained, "It doesn't only depend on the real weight. It also has much to do with the time we hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it is OK. If I hold it for an hour, I will have a pain in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, I will have to see a doctor. It is the exact same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes. This book represents stress. If you hold it without putting it down, sooner or later, you will not be able to keep on. No matter how much stress you have, stop and have a rest for a while if possible. Boys and girls, you should learn to relax yourselves. I am sure you will live a happy school life."

In your last letter, you told me that you had no time to spend with your good friends because your parents were too overprotective. And at the same time they had many rules for you at home. I am sorry to hear that. And here is my advice for you.

Firstly, you should have a conversation with them and tell them what you really need. At a good time, during a happy family dinner, you can say that you should have some rights (权利) and want to spend some time with your good friends having fun. If your parents are against you, you may talk about the advantages of staying with friends.

Secondly, you can tell them it's not good for your health and study when you always stay at home. You should get out with your friends, hang out with them, and meet new people. It will be a good idea to open your eyes.

Thirdly, if your parents use studying as the excuse for keeping you at home, you should tell them IQ isn't everything. EQ is also important for the future.
