Some people complain about technology because it takes too much of their time. This isn't 1 for me. Let me tell you why. 

I'm the youngest in the family. Because my twin brothers are away at 2 , I often feel lonely. Thanks to technology, I'm able to see and talk to 3 by using video calls almost every day. Sometimes, I even chat with their classmates and roommates 4 they happen to be around. My brothers and I also follow each other on social media (媒体). I can see what their college 5 and what they're doing in their free time. Similarly, they can see what I'm doing at home or the places and events I go to, such as football matches and birthday parties. I find I learn much more about my brothers, 6 with the time when they were at home. One of them is really good at taking photos, while the other 7 loves to be taken. 

With technology, I can communicate with my brothers anytime I want. They 8 a chat group just for the three of us. I often post messages to them, and they will answer whenever they are 9 . I often share my problems with them and they often give me some advice. Through this chat group, we can also share jokes 10 ourselves. Besides, my brothers insist (坚持) that I should always write in good English, or they'll not reply to my 11 . I've been writing so much that I'm becoming quite good at it. Even my teachers noticed that my 12 had improved.

② Thanks to our government and the nice people, the villagers' dream has come true. There is a big and wide bridge over the river. And besides, the villagers have lived in the new buildings and worked in companies in our village. 

③ As for me, with the love and encouragement from kind people, I had no fear on the way to my dream. Last year I graduated from a university. To follow the call of rural revitalization (乡村振兴), I chose to build my hometown as an engineer with some of my friends. In fact, with Chinese Dream, great changes have taken place everywhere in China in the last few years. China has also got many achievements such as 5G, the high-speed railway and Beidou Navigation. 

④ Now our government is carrying out a lot of projects such as urban-rural integration (城乡融合) and ecological tourism (生态旅游) to increase people's income and improve the quality of their life. More and more people would like to return to their hometowns to do some meaningful things. 

⑤ "Where there are dreams, actions and union, there is a way." I believe Chinese people will continue getting together and working hard to get more achievements in the near future. 

Teenage life—better now, or in the past?

Does this situation sound familiar (熟悉)? 

You are complaining (抱怨) to your parents about something. Maybe your computer isn't powerful enough to play the latest games.  Then you hear... 

When I was your age, there weren't any computers or video games. And I didn't get a bike until I was sixteen. And it was second-hand. 

So, is it really true that life is better for teenagers now? It is certainly true that many teenagers have got more things nowadays.  So parents have got more money to spend on each child. And many things are cheaper than they were when our parents were children. 

 Thirty years ago, no one could imagine a world with tiny computers and amazing smartphones. And now these things are necessary —we can't imagine living without them! 

However, technology often means we spend more time at home. And often it's just us, with our computer or television. Teenagers don't do enough exercise.  Some people think teenagers today don't have so many social activities as they did in the past.

AI is everywhere and it is changing the healthcare field (医疗保健领域). Months ago, researchers from Tsinghua University can AI hospital called Agent Hospital. It is like a virtual (虚拟的) town with AI doctors and patients. It scool, doesn't it? 

In this AI hospital, AI doctors can quickly treat (治疗) a lot of patients—10,000 in just a few days. It is ifor real doctors to do that. It would take them years to treat the same number of patients. 

Agent Hospital has many a. For example, it offers very good training chances for medical students. They can practise on virtual (虚拟的) patients without wabout hurting real patients because of wrong choices. The project can also give everyone better healthcare. AI doctors can ua lot of medical information to help many people at once. 

But there are problems. Liu Yang lthe research team. He says it's important to follow strict medical rules (规则) and make sure the AI technology is safe. In medical practice, every patient is d. Real doctors are needed in different and complex (复杂的) situations. AI can greatly improve healthcare, but it creplace (取代) people. 

As Dr Dong Jiahong said, medicine is a science of love and an art of warmth, while AI healthcare is "cold". AI can't offer personal care. So, AI and people should work tin healthcare to help patients. 

① On a warm spring day, Liu Song walked past the green wheat fields and through the flower fields before arriving at his office. There, he had a meeting with his team to discuss important village matters. 

② As a graduate of Zhejiang University, Liu used to work in several big companies (公司). In September 2020, he became the manager of Yong'an Village in Hangzhou City. At the beginning, things were difficult for Liu and his team. The village was poor. Most people made a living only by growing rice. 

③ Having grown up in the countryside, Liu loved the land and the people there. And he knew very well that the village's real advantage was its large farmland. He and his team tried to help the villagers put it to good use. They introduced new technology for farming. They improved the public services. And in order to develop tourism (旅游业), they held different village cultural festivals every year. 

④ Now the villagers are living a better life. They are making more money than before. Many tourists love visiting the village because it has become more beautiful and convenient. The roads are wider and safer for driving. The river water is much cleaner now, making the environment more pleasant. There are also special restaurants where visitors can try delicious local food. 

⑤ Shen Yan, one of Liu's team members, grew up in Yong'an Village. After working abroad as a company manager, she decided to return home to work. At first, her father disagreed because he didn't understand why she gave up such a good job abroad. But when seeing the great changes and bright future in the village, he came to understand his daughter's decision.
