The Spice Bazaar

It's a great market in Istanbul with tourists (游客) and people from Istanbul. There are many stalls (货摊). And they all sell many kinds of spices (香料). The colors and smells of the spices are really great.

Khlong Lat Phli

It's a very special (特别的) market. It's about 80 km from Thailand. Early every morning, many people sell fresh fruit on their boats on the canals (运河). You can buy fruit and have fun near the canals. 

Tsukiji Market

Do you like fish? If you do, the Tsukiji Market in Tokyo is the right place for you. It's the biggest seafood (海鲜) market in the world. People from the restaurants buy the fresh fish at that time. If you want to visit it, you can go there after the early morning.

El Rastro

It's an open-air (露天的) market in Madrid. It's open on Sunday mornings. There are more than 1000 stalls. Many people come here to find their favorite books. One of the streets sells only animals and birds. Many street musicians are making music with their guitars. You can eat and drink something there.

My dad is interested in history. Whenever I ask him some questions about the history, he always replies to me  (correct). Last summer, my father  (suggest) going to some places along the Silk Road. 

We started at Lanzhou and went on to Wuwei. 

Wuwei is nearly in the  (centre) area of Gansu. It was  important city along the Silk Road. It connected three main cities in the area. The next stop was Jiayuguan. It was a busy city with a lot of people passing . Even today it's still a city that many businessmen travel through. After leaving Jiayuguan, we went on to the  (four) stop, Yumenguan. It is in the Gobi Desert  connects central Asia and China. 

In the end, we went to the centre of Dunhuang, a city with a long history and great artworks. I sent many beautiful  (postcard) here to my friends. This trip helped me have a much  (deep) understanding of the history. And we really enjoyed  (we) along the trip. We'll never forget it.

I'm  the Tang Dynasty's capital Chang'an. People in your time call the city Xi'an. The Silk Road starts from Chang'an. That makes it become  of the most popular cities in the world. There are over 1,000,000 people in the city, and 200,000 of them are foreigners. Most of  go a long way along the Silk Road. They bring their goods (商品), arts  food, and they become an important part of our everyday life!

Foreign clothes  popular in Chang'an. They always have close-fitting sleeves (紧身袖子) and turn-down collars (翻领), and they are  than ours. Foreigners wear this kind of clothes. People in Chang'an like to wear them, too.

This is hubing, a kind of popular  in the city. It's a kind of cake with sesame (芝麻) seeds on it. Travellers on the Silk Road like to eat it and bring it to Chang'an. Many  fruits and vegetables are brought to China. They come a long way along the Silk Road to our table. At the same time, many  of things different from those of China are also brought here. So amazing, right?
