Robots have come a long way. Let's meet some famous robots from history! 

The theme and main logo for the 2025 Spring Festival Gala (春晚) were officially introduced on November 29, 2024. This great event, which marks the Year of the Snake, promises to be a celebration filled with joy and traditional Chinese art. The theme for this year's gala is "Si (巳) Si Ru Yi, Sheng Sheng Bu Xi," which carries deep symbolic meanings. 

The time from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. is called "Zi Shi" in traditional Chinese timekeeping, which is the first part of the day. In this system, a day is divided into 12 parts, and each part is two hours long. "Si" in Chinese is the sixth part of the day, when the sun is high in the sky. It's a time when everything seems to wake up and come to life, creating a beautiful scene. By using "Si Si Ru Yi" as the theme, the 2025 Spring Festival Gala hopes to bring good wishes to every family and the whole nation. "Sheng Sheng Bu Xi" means the endless energy and prosperity of the Chinese nation. 

The main logo is both creative and meaningful. Its design is inspired by traditional Chinese patterns and it uses the Oracle Bone Script (甲骨文) character "Si" as its creative part. There are two "Si" characters put together in a special way, making it look like "Yi" (乙) and "Si". This means good things will happen twice, like a double wish for luck. It's a nice way to connect the Snake Year with good luck and send happy blessings to everyone. 

People are very excited to see this new logo and can't wait for the 2025 Spring Festival Gala to start. It's going to be a fantastic show, full of music, dance, and fun, just like every year.

①When we talk about communication (沟通), we often think of talking with others. But do you know that we also talk with ourselves from time to time? For example, your mum asks you what you would like for breakfast. Many foods come to your mind: sandwiches, bread, milk...You think that it would be great to have sandwiches. Until you tell your mum what you want to eat, you are talking with yourself. 

②We call this kind of communication intrapersonal (内心的) communication. This can be talking to ourselves, reading, writing, thinking, understanding and remembering something. 

③Intrapersonal communication plays a big part in our lives. Good intrapersonal communication allows you to understand yourself better. When you're comfortable with who you are, and you know what you want, you can better get on with yourself. Also, intrapersonal communication helps you keep an eye on your thoughts and feelings. When you find that your mind is full of bad thoughts and sad feelings, you will try to cheer up and get rid of them. 

④What's more, intrapersonal communication helps you to talk with others. Understanding your thoughts and feelings better allows you to put yourself in others' shoes when you talk to or listen to them. Then, you can better understand and get on with them.

What do France, Australia, and the U.S. have in common? Among other things, their national flags (旗) all have the same colors: red, white, and blue. In fact, nearly 30 countries in the world use just these three colors in their national flags. Have you ever thought about why?

Historically, the three colors have been used for practical reasons. White was easier to create than most other colors. Red and blue were harder to make, but they were strong colors that could last long.

Besides, each of the colors has its meaning. Red often makes people think of bravery. White can mean purity and blue can stand for peace; both bring about a feeling of calm. People enjoy looking at these colors together, but scientists aren't sure why that is.

There is also a more important reason. Some countries wanted to make a flag like the flag of a stronger country. In the 17th century, the Netherlands, a European country, was strong on the sea. Its red, blue, and white flag became a good example for other countries. One of them was Russia. When Tsar Peter visited the Netherlands, he thought its navy (海军) was great. He decided to borrow the idea of the Dutch (荷兰的) flag. But he changed the place of the three colors, of course!

Fight the Winter Chills (寒冷)

Winter can feel like hard work with its short days and wet weather. However, you can learn to enjoy the season.

Darker months may be difficult.

During winter there is less daylight and it gets dark earlier.  It's often rainy, windy and cold, so being outside if you are not wrapped (包裹) up properly isn't much fun. Frances Trussell, who helps people with their health, says, "If you draw a picture of a happy day, it's likely that it would have a bright, sunny sky. So you might find darker winter days more difficult."

Countries in northern Europe have even less daylight than in the UK in winter.  People there don't wish it was brighter or warmer. They accept (接受) it and they know spring will come. The Danish enjoy "hygge" which is a nice feeling of being at home with loved ones. They enjoy delicious food and drink with friends.

You can't change the weather, so make it more enjoyable. Wrap up in warm clothing, hats and gloves so you can be outside. Get out and enjoy the sunshine. You still can have fun even if it's cold outside. Think about how you can feel great when you get home, too. Put on a coat, hold a hot water bottle, watch a movie and warm your stomach with soup and drinks. .
