A family of golden lion tamarins（金狮面狨）is moving in Brazil' s Atlantic Forest（巴西大西洋森林）. The father has two babies on his back, and his partner is next to him. These tamarins can only live in forests——they can't live anywhere else.

Long ago, the Atlantıc Forest was twice as big as Thailand. But in the 1500s. Europeans（欧洲人）began to cut down trees to make ships and homes. Later, farmers cut down more trees for sugarcane（甘蔗）, coffee and cows. Now the forest is less than 10% of its original（最初的）size. Tamarins spend most of their time in the top of trees, so when the forest got smaller, their homes and living areas got smaller too. By the 1970s, only about 200 tamarins were left.

Since 1972, people who protect nature have worked to save the tamarins. Some zoos had tamarins in cages. They bred more tamarins to make their number bigger— many baby tamarins were born in the zoos at that time. Then they trained the tamarins to live in the wild. For example, zookeepers let them live in trees and learn to find food. In 1983, the first group went back to Brazil's forests. Local groups also helped: they bought land, planted trees and gave people jobs. Now nearly 2,500 tamarins live in the forest.

Teenagers often have different ideas about whether they should do housework at home. Most of them say their time should be fully used for studying. They think good grades matter a lot for future plans, like getting into a good high school. But others think doing housework is an important part of growing up, not just a"waste of time" In my view, teenagers should help with chores.

First, doing housework teaches us to take responsibility（责任）. As part of the family, we are not just people who get care—we should also help make the home a nice place to live. Simple tasks like sweeping the floor, washing dishes, or folding clothes let us see how much work our parents do each day. This helps us feel more thankful to them.

Second, housework helps us learn useful life skills. Things like tidying our rooms, planning time to finish chores before studying, or fixing small problems will all help us in the future.

Also, chores can be a healthy break from long hours of studying. Looking at books or screens too long makes us tired and stressed. Doing a short chore lets our brains relax, so we can go back to studying with more energy. Of course, balance is important—we shouldn't let chores take too much of our study time. We just need to plan well. In short, doing housework doesn't hurt our studies; it helps us become more responsible, skilled, and all-around（全面发展的）teenagers.

Why Friendships Are Good for Our Health

Many cultures often see romantic love as an important part of life, but few people realize that friendships are also important for us. Psychological（心理学的） research tells us that strong, healthy friendships can make us happier and help us live longer.

People who have friends usually feel more satisfied（满足的）with their life. What's more, they are less likely to die from illnesses like heart problems. On the other hand, people without good friendships face a higher risk of dying early.

Good Things About Friendships

The good news is that we can make and keep friendships at any age.  Even short talks with friends can cheer us up. Also, small chats with others can make us feel happier than staying alone.

When we feel stressed, talking to a friend helps. Our blood pressure stays lower then. And when we have a friend with us while doing hard tasks, the tasks feel easier than doing them alone.

Bad Results of No Friendships

Loneliness is bad for our health. It makes us more likely to have heart problems or die early. A long time ago, only 3%. of adults had no close friends. That number got much bigger over the years.

Friends are truly important for our health and happiness. We should try to keep our good friendships and make new ones too.

Last weekend, I went camping with my family in a forest. Before leaving, we prepared necessary（必需的）things: a strong tent, warm sleeping bags, enough food and 1 . My mom also packed a Bluetooth speaker（蓝牙音箱）to play soft music when we ate or chatted, which made our time together more2

Cao Cao's men heard the loud noises. Because of the heavy fog, they couldn't see clearly. They thought the (boat) were full of enemy（敌人） soldiers. So, Cao Cao told his soldiers to shoot arrows at the boats. Soon, all the straw men were covered with arrows. When the fog began to go away, Zhuge Liang asked his soldiers (turn) the boats around and sail back. Finally, they took more than 100,000 arrows back to Zhou Yu. Everyone was  (surprise) to see such a large number of arrows from Zhuge Liang.

This story shows that smart thinking can help us solve even the hardest problems. And it also teaches (we) to keep cool when facing difficult tasks.

Fiona was a popular girl in her school. From an early age, she tried to be nice and kind to every classmate. She often invited all her classmates to her birthday party and sometimes gave them small gifts.

But things changed on the International Day of Friendship. On that day, the teacher asked everyone to make three gifts for three best friends. Fiona was happy to pick three classmates to give gifts to. However, after all gifts were given out, she was the only one who didn't get any gift! She felt really sad and cried for a long time.

After this activity, she realized that she was a good classmate, but not a true friend to anyone. Although she tried to be close to everyone, that wasn't enough to have real friendships.

After hearing this, Fiona decided to change herself to become such a true friend. That night, when she was in bed, she thought about how her mother always helped her, accepted（接受）her mistakes, encouraged her, and loved her deeply—— and that's exactly how a true friend should be.
