Imagine a group of people are talking about something happily. But there is one man who cannot follow them. Why? He has a hearing problem. How can we help such people?

Now a new and exciting invention allows deaf people to see conversations in real time. Using augmented reality(AR, 增强现实技术) glasses and a smartphone, deaf people are also able to join in everyday conversations. 

The AR glasses were developed by Dan Scarfe after he had a Christmas dinner with his family. The man saw his 97-year-oldhearing-impaired grandfather sitting alone in silence while the rest of the family were talking excitedly. The images of his grandfather always watching TV shows with subtitles(字幕) crossed Scarfe's mind. He suddenly realized that maybe the AR glasses could help. 

Scarfe got to work, working with Nreal, an ARglasses maker. Six months later, a new pair of ARglasses came out. The glasses have a microphone that receives the audio(音频) from the environment and sends it to a connected smartphone. The phone then creates subtitles from that audio and these subtitles then appear on the user's glasses screen. 

The company first tested the glasses in the UK. The UK was chosen as a testing ground as over 13million adults in Britain have hearing loss. However, when the product goes global, it could change the lives of millions of people. 

This is a great change for the deaf. Mark Atkinson, who is using the AR glasses, said, "As a deaf person myself, I am blown away by this new technology. When I tried on the glasses for the first time, I was so happy. Real-time subtitles made me become part of the conversation as never before. "

Can you say the meaning of "zero"? Can you do addition and subtraction (加减法)? Most people can. But do you know bees can do these things too? A study shows that bees have even greater maths abilities. After some training, they can know the difference between even numbers(ending with 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8) and odd numbers (ending with 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9). 

Some Australian scientists put up different cards with an odd or even number of triangles(三角形). They used the numbers 1 to 10. Then they trained the first group of bees to choose odd numbers and the second group to choose even numbers. If a bee flew to the right card, it would get sugar water. If it chose the wrong card, it got bitter (苦的)water. 

In a short time, all the bees knew what odd numbers or even numbers were. They could fly to the right numbers 80% of the time. After that, the scientists added new cards with the numbers 11 and12. The bees never saw the numbers in their training before, but they could choose rightly 70% of the time. Surprisingly, the bees even learnt odd numbers more quickly than people. 

How did the bees learn the numbers so fast? Scientists didn't have a clear idea. But they believe if they find the answer, it will help them build better and faster computers. After all, a bee's brain must be smaller than ours!

Nowadays, many people drive to work now. So there are lots of cars in the streets and the traffic is very busy. Sometimes, it's not easy for you to get to work on time. When you are going to be late, you may dream of taking a plane there. Can your dream come true? Yes! You can take a plane only in months! 

Four people in Germany are interested in making planes and they are working on a new plane—Lilium Jet. It doesn't look like a plane but an egg. Many people think it looks funny and interesting. The fun "egg" can take two people to the sky and "run" about three hundred kilometers an hour. That's really great. 

Some people also call Lilium Jet a "flying car". Why? Firstly, you can drive it like driving a car. But it can go faster and farther than a car. Secondly, Lilium Jet is not very big, as small as a car. So it doesn't need an airport. Only a small area is OK. It can even take off (起飞) from a garden and stop everywhere. 

Then is it safe to drive the "flying car"? Of course yes! Some people have tested it many times. "It's really cool to see Lilium Jet fly to the sky. Everyone should have a try," says one of the makers. In the future, Lilium Jet will come into people's life and change our ways of going out.

Xuan paper was popular in the Tang Dynasty. Handmade Xuan paper from Anhui Province was soft but strong. And it can absorb(吸收)liquid of water or ink very quickly.  So they liked it very much. The traditional making of Xuan paper needs Carambola Vine Juice. The entire procedure is so difficult that few men know how to make it. 

Thousands of years of culture was recorded on paper and passed to different parts of the world. They made it possible for more and more people to know the   ancient   Chinese. Xuan paper is the treasure of papermaking.  

Zhuangzi, whose given name was Zhou, lived during the Warring States Period. He told us many meaningful (story) in his book named Zhuangzi. Most of (he) ideas were included in this book. In his opinion, being free is much more important than having a rich and famous life. He believed both life and death were (nature). He also (advise) people to keep healthy. Zhuangzi often showed his ideas in the form of stories. Zhuangzi Dreaming of Becoming a Butterfly is the (famous) of all. One night, Zhuangzi went to sleep and dreamed that he was  butterfly. He flew freely and ( happy) among flowers. It was amazing for him to see the world as a butterfly. a strange dream! After waking up, Zhuangzi couldn't help (think) about a question, "Was I Zhuangzi dreaming of being a butterfly, or was I a butterfly dreaming of being Zhuangzi?" fact, Zhuangzi used this dream to tell us that there must be a difference between all things. However, the difference would go away sometimes.
