Do you like taking trips? Can you always find your way in a new place? What can you do when you get lost?

Most people sometimes can't find the right way when they get to a new place. It is important to prepare well before you go. You can buy a map or read an e-map online before you take a trip. It will help you a lot when you can't find your way.

When you are in a new place, you can remember the landmarks (地标) near your hotel, like banks, cinemas and shops.

When you can't find your way, you can ask others the way to those places. Don't be too shy (害羞的) to speak to others. People are always friendly and kind. And they will tell you how to get there.

If no one can help you, you can take a taxi. All the drivers know the city well. They will take you to any place that you want to go to.

What can you do if you are lost in a forest? Don't worry. Watch the sun. Remember that the sun moves from the east to the west. You can also find and walk along it. Then you can get out of the forest.

Do you do team projects at school? I do a lot. I enjoy team projects because I like sharing ideas with other people. Of course, team activities aren't always easy. You need to know how to work well together. Here are some suggestions to make team work easier.

Know the goals

Make sure everyone understands the goal of the project. If you're doing a class project, you need to check the teacher's instructions carefully and ask questions whenever something is unclear. There's a popular saying: If you don't know where you're going, you probably won't get there.

Assign (指派) roles

Everyone should have a role in the team. For example, there should be a leader who helps everyone make decisions. There might be a note-taker who writes down the team's ideas during meetings, and a time-keeper to control the time. There might also be a fact-checker or a group speaker.

Divide the work

For large projects, the work can be divided into smaller tasks. Then you can choose tasks that you do well or enjoy. Of course, you shouldn't always do the same task. It's good to try new things, even if they're difficult!

Make a plan

After you divide the work, write down a plan on paper. You can use a calendar (日历) to help you. List all the tasks and think about when each one must be finished. It's important for everyone to follow the plan. And if you can't finish your part on time, tell the others as soon as possible.

Try to be positive (积极的). Everything is easier when you're enjoying yourself in the team.

Mandy is 12 years old. She just joined a volunteer club a week ago. Some people are sharing their experiences of being a volunteer.  Let's have a look.

Judy is 22 years old. She began to be a volunteer four years ago. She loves children. So she teaches them music in an after-class study program (项目). All of them are lovely children and some of them do really well in music.

Sandy is a 14-year-old student. She is a volunteer of an animal training center for two years.  She thinks they are humans' best friends. She trains them to listen to people's orders, so they can help disabled (残疾的) people. 

Jane is a 35-year-old mother. She is in for 7 years. She often goes to the old people's home at the weekend.  Sometimes she takes her son to go there. The boy likes talking with others and the old love him very much. He often makes them laugh (大笑).

So Mandy is going to volunteer in the Green Park this weekend. She will hand out (分发) maps to the visitors and show the way to the park to them.  She hopes it will be a great experience.

Saving electricity and water is important in our daily life. There are many little things we can do to help save the earth. They are small, but if everyone does the same thing, we will make a great difference. Here are some things we can do.

First, we can keep our windows and doors closed in winter to make our house warm. While in summer, we can keep them open. The wind can help us feel cool. Also, always remember to turn off the lights when we get out of the room. In these ways, we can save both electricity and money.

Second, we can do something to save water. Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth. Also, after we wash vegetables and clothes, we can use the water to clean the floor. And it is better for us to take a shower than a bath. These will help save water.

In a word, protecting the environment doesn't need to do too many great things. We can start by just making some small changes at home. Besides saving electricity and water, there are many other things we can do to help save our earth.

Tree Planting Day is an important day in the world. Today, many  (country) have such a holiday. In China, Tree Planting Day is on March 12th. It is a day  (remember) Sun Yat-sen (孙中山). Sun Yat-sen was a great person in China. But many people don't know that he helped to save trees.

Tree Planting Day in China  (start) in 1915. From 1916 to 1928, Tree Planting Day was celebrated on the Chinese Qingming Festival each year. Sun Yat-sen asked people to stop  (cut) down trees in many of his books. He even planted trees  (he) with many people. Sun Yat-sen died (去世)  March 12th, 1925. In order to remember Sun Yat-sen, Chinese people decided  (set) Tree Planting Day on that day every year.

Planting trees is good  our earth. It can make the world beautiful. Trees give us forests, stop soil from losing,  protect farmland. They can make the earth a good place for us to live in.

With no trees, our lives will be  (difficulty). For example, we can't get fruit or oil(油) from trees. So it's important for everyone to plant more trees on Tree Planting Day.
