Using filters（滤镜）is common among young people on social media. Filters can make people look more beautiful and even add funny effects. However,TikTok is making some changes.

In November 2024, TikTok said that users under 18 won't be able to use beauty filters that change their features in ways makeup can't. But don't worry, funny filters like animal ears will still be allowed.

Why the change? Beauty filters can hurt people's mental health, according to BBC. A UK-based group called 5Rights found that 34 percent of girls aged 11 to 21 won't post a photo unless they edit how they look. Another report from Love,a beauty rand, found that 48 percent of girls who often edit their photos feel worse about their bodies.

Seeing these edited image all the time can make it hard for young people to tell what's real. They might start to think that perfect, edited images are normal, which can change how they see the world.

Jessica Chalmers, an online child safety expert, said that TikTok's move is"a step in the right direction".

The ban（禁令）only works if users have accounts with their real ages. However, not everyone under 18 has given TikTok their real age. To help with this, TikTok is testing smart technology to look at things like" happy birthday" messages to guess ages.

Do you like to keep an eye out for discount stickers（折扣标签）on food that is close to its sell-by date? Well those stickers might soon be a thing of the past, as supermarkets may start using AI to watch when prices need to be reduced.

Some supermarkets in Europe are already using this pricing system, and have either digital price tags（数字价签） on the shelves, or high-tech stickers on the products themselves.

The AI system checks if a product is about to expire（到期）on the shelf before it gets sold. and. then decides whether to reduce its price or not. If there is a tot of product left, its price might be greatly reduced. But if this time of year has been a period of high sales for this product and it's likely to sell well now, there might be no reduction.

Wasteless, an Israeli business organization, is providing this AI system to+many supermarkets in Europe. It says the system can cut down the food waste in stores by a third. " The system not only stops food from expiring on the sheives, but also lets supermarkets know what products are not welcome, " the company said to the BBC.

But while dynamic pricing might mean/ iess food waste, it also make it difficult for customers to understand how much the products cost in the beginning. And uncertain prices wouldn't be friendly to people who don't have a lot of money to spend. It could even make certain products more expensive in certain areas than in others, if they are in great need.

Every school has some rules for students to follow. But what happens when students break the rules? In the UK, when students don't behave well at school, they will be given a warning. But if they go on behaving badly——like talking over the teacher, they' ll be punished.  Generally speaking, there are five punishments in UK schools: detention, isolation（隔离）education unit(IEU), supervision, suspension and exclusion（开除）。

F. The Happy Valley is a well-known amusement park with exciting rides such as roller coasters and Ferris wheels. It's a great place to have fun and feel the excitement. In the park, you can also find American-style fast food like burgers and fries.

Shan Hai Jing, also known as The Classi c of Mountains and Seas, is said to be at least 2200 years old. It is about creature and geography of China before the Qin dynasty. The whole collection includes eighteen parts, talking about more than 550 mountains and 300 seas. It also tells many (interest) stories and describes lots of mythical creatures.
