China now has 43 items (项目) on the intangible cultural heritage (非物质文化遗产) list, making it the nation with the most entries (入选) on the list in the world. Qinqiang (秦腔) was selected as the national intangible cultural heritage in 2006. It is special for its simple, bold (大胆的), artistic opera style.

Hou Yan, 48, is the president of Qinqiang Theater of the Ningxia Performing Arts Group. She started learning Qinqiang Opera from her mother when she was 4 years old.

Training in Qinqiang Opera is very hard. In 1985, Hou studied at an art school in Ningxia. She needed to do waist bending (下腰) and somersaults (翻筋斗) each day. In training, she had to hold each move for half an hour. A small mistake could mean she had to start all over again.

Her hard work paid off. Hou started to work in a troupe (剧团) in Yinchuan at the age of 16. But in 1993, pop and western music bit Qinqiang Opera hard. The troupe had to close and Hou left the opera stage.

In the past few years, however, China has worked hard to build up its traditional culture. Hou went back to the stage in 2000. She felt happier than ever before.

Now, Hou's team gives hundreds of Qinqiang Opera performances every year in Ningxia. The average (平均的) age of Hou's opera team is 30.

"As we become more confident (自信的) about our culture, more young people become promoters (传播者) of our own culture," Hou said.

China is home to tea and has a long history of tea culture. As time goes by, the tea culture has developed greatly.

In the Tang Dynasty, people not only drank tea, but also ate the tea leaves. That was why tasting tea was called "tea-eating". In the Song Dynasty, the way people drank tea became romantic and was full of art. In the Ming Dynasty, tasting tea returned to its true nature of "drinking tea". People put dry tea leaves in the cup and then poured boiled water into it before drinking. And in the Qing Dynasty, the tea culture finally came into common families. Drinking tea became part of their daily life. At the same time, there were more tea houses.

Nowadays, making tea around a stove (围炉煮茶) has become popular among young people. This is a special way of drinking tea. Many young people like to choose a quiet and comfortable environment to make tea. While boiling tea, there must be delicate and tasty snacks like small oranges and sweet potatoes on the charcoal (炭) stove, satisfying people's eyes and mouth. And beautiful cups and teapots would bring them more pleasure in mind. What they enjoy are art, spiritual world and the deep Chinese tea culture. Away from their busy work and life, they feel calm and peaceful in mind.

In fact, people began to make tea around a stove in ancient times. As time passes by, Chinese tea culture continues to develop. Modern tea culture has mixed traditional and modern art and life, showing a more open and colorful culture.

There are a lot of websites offering advice about the best ways to learn languages.  However, language learning is something that will take you a lifetime. It's impossible to learn a language in only a few weeks. 

The thought of learning a language can be quite scary. Many people never try, as they listen to that voice in their heads that keeps telling them they can't do it because it's too much work.  When you achieve each one, you feel good and the fear goes away. 

Most language experts agree it's better to learn new words and grammar by using topics that interest you. Reading long lists of words is not a good way of learning new vocabulary.  Reading those words in an interesting article, however, might not make you sleepy and is a much better way to remember them. 

Many people will tell you that you can only really learn a language when you're young.  Instead, just keep on learning because there's plenty of evidence（证据）to show that adults can become just as good though they learn in different ways from children. 

Learning more about your own language can actually help you when it comes to trying a new language. As you see, if you want to learn to use anything well, you need to understand how it works, and languages are no different And then use your knowledge of that language to help you develop skills in the new language.

When my children were younger, we used to walk around the lake near our home.

The atmosphere(气氛) at his restaurant Tim's Place is so positive that customers call it the  (popular) restaurant in the world. Tim's hug has   interesting name on the menu called a "love" treat.

Lian Po and Lin Xiangru were two important people in the State of Zhao. Lian was a brave general and Lin was an excellent advisor. Lian was famous for winning battles (战役) and making his enemies scared. Lin, on the other hand, was clever and knew how to use words to solve problems. He once saved the Heshibi for the King of Zhao and became a trusted advisor.

 But there was a problem. Lian felt worried after Lin got a higher position than him. He thought he should be given honor for his achievements on the battlefields. Sometimes, Lian even spoke ill of Lin behind his back.

Lin didn't want any trouble, so he avoided meeting Lian. He didn't want to argue or fight. Lian though he was winning because it appeared that Lin was scared of him. Lin's friends, however, were upset about this. They thought Lin was too kind and weak. But Lin explained that he didn't have reasons to fight Lian because it would harm their country. He believed that if they pull together, the State of Zhao would become powerful.

When Lian heard this, he felt ashamed. He realized he was being foolish and also caused trouble for their country. So he said sorry to Lin, and they became good friends. They worked together to serve the State of Zhao and forget about personal problems. Lian and Lin showed us that even if we have differences, we can still put aside our pride and achieve great things.
