Harbin is the capital (首都) city of Heilongjiang. Many people like Harbin because of its winter tourism (旅游). Last winter, people talked a lot about Harbin on the Internet.

To make visitors feel welcome, Harbin did a lot of things. At the airport (机场), there were shows to watch. And visitors could get warm clothes to wear in dressing rooms. Local (当地的) people also helped a lot. When they were not busy, they went out to give free rides to visitors. When some tourists couldn't find hotels, the local government (政府) let visitors stay in their service center at a low price.

Many of the tourists were from southern China. It doesn't snow very often there. They dressed themselves like potatoes and many of them are shorter than the people in Heilongjiang. So the local people called them "southern little potatoes". The nickname (绰号) quickly became popular on the Internet. The tourists liked the nickname and shared their warm experiences of Harbin. A girl left a note at the hotel, saying, "This southern little potato is leaving. Harbin is so beautiful. The people are so friendly. I can't wait to come back again. Yours, southern little potato." After people saw this note online, "the southern little potato is leaving" became a hot topic, and more and more people shared their trips.

If you go to a club and pay to hear someone tell funny stories, there is a performance called "stand-up". Stand-up comedy (单口喜剧) started in Britain and the US more than 150 years ago. It has come a long way in the West, but it is a new kind of TV show in China. More and more young people began watching stand-up comedy, and some even started doing it part-time. Unlike the Western's, the Chinese stand-up comedy is much shorter, lasting five to ten minutes long.

So far, the most popular one in China is Stand-up Comedy 2024 on the Internet. More than 50 performers from China and abroad join the show. A graduate (研究生) talks about the problems when he is looking for jobs. A British man tells his funny stories while living in China. A grandpa shares what happened to him and his children when they live together. Their colorful stories and different ideas on life put wonder into this season's program. The show is such a big success that it has opened a door to the golden age of stand-up comedy.

Today there are stand-up clubs around the world. Why is stand-up comedy so popular? Because people think it is simple and fun. All you need is one person to stand up and make the whole room laugh. The performers are telling their own stories in a straightforward (直接的) and funny way, which makes people forget about their worries and leave a big smile on their faces. So if you're looking for a good time full of laughter, choose stand-up comedy.

Life is full of regrets (遗憾). It's not difficult for people around you to tell his regrets. As we get older, we look back and wish that we always made the right decisions. What can we do to live a happy life without regrets? 

Make better plans

It's better for you to make a plan before you start to do something. The earlier, the better. You will know what comes first and what comes last.  When changes happen, you can have more time to face them.

You can go around more often. More outdoor activities can keep you relaxed and active. You also need to be kind. "Thank you" can bring a smile to someone's face. Learn to say "sorry" and don't be angry with others.

Find the right friend

A friend may make your life good and he can make your life bad as well, so you have to think twice when you choose a friend. When you get into trouble, he can give you a helping hand. 

Never be afraid of failure (失败)

 Even the greatest person failed. We should not be afraid of failure. It is not the end of the road. We must take failure as a way to learn and make ourselves better.

Life is fantastic. We hope that we can plan better and live better.

Alexa and Brittany are best friends. They first met each other when Brittany moved next door in the 2nd grade. They play together 1 every day after school.

But they are different in many ways. Alexa is a shy girl. She is better at schoolwork than any other 2 in her class and reads a lot of books.

Now, Vance's "Traveling Landscapes" is the  (popular) in the world. But you don't need to wait for them to come to your city,  Vance often shares them on the Internet.

Huang Xuemei, a programmer living in Xiamen, Fuian Province, surprised everyone at the 2024 Paris Olympio Games. She won the first place in the women's group of Marathon Pour Tous with a time of 2:41:03. Marathon Pour Tous is the first marathon event (赛事) for common people in the history of the Olympic Games.

When she was in college, a teacher found Huang's talent for long-distance running (长跑) and told her to run. She started to practice running in her free time. Although she is busy working after finishing school, Huang never stops her love for running.

Later, Huang started to take part in running competitions. She won her first gold medal (奖牌) in the 20th Xiamen Gamnes. She also took part in marathons held in Xiamen and Beijing. She kept breaking her records (记录) by finishing each race in a shorter time. Later she won the Xiamen Marathon again and got a much better grade. At the Paris Olympics, Huang became very famous because she was the first woman to finish the Marathon Pour Tous. Everyone felt happy for her.

Huang says she loves running very much because she can enjoy the sport freely. She doesn't care if she can win prizes. In her eyes, running is a great way to take stress (压力) off in her free time.
