Altay （阿勒泰）, a place in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region （新疆维吾尔自治区）, has become a famous place for tourists because of a successful TV show named To the Wonder(《我的阿勒泰》). The show showed the area's amazing natural beauty, with mountains covered in snow, lakes that are very clear, and old villages that are still in good condition. Altay is also a favorite place for skiing during the cold season.

People who study tourism say that Altay has always been famous for its beautiful nature, but it was not a popular place to visit before because it took a long time to travel there and the cost of staying in hotels was high. However, the popular TV show has made more people, especially young people, interested in visiting Altay.

Even though it can be difficult to travel to Altay, experts think that the area could become a great place for tourists. Altay has different interesting things to see in summer and winter, so it can attract visitors all year. The government of Altay are advised to keep making their area better for tourists by improving their tourism and cultural attractions, as well as making the places for tourists to stay and visit better.

It is not the first time that a TV show has made a place more popular for tourists. In the last few years, other places, like Dali in Yunnan Province, have also become popular tourist destinations （目的地） because of interesting TV dramas. By making tour products that include both natural beauty and cultural activities, Altay can make visiting even better and bring more people to see their special area.

①Shenzhou XVIII successfully launched. Shenzhou XVIII is the32nd flight mission of China's manned space program, and the third crewed mission during the application and development stage of China's space station. The Shenzhou XVIII crew （全体机组人员） members are Ye Guang fu, Li Cong and Li Guangsu. The Shenzhou XVII crew will go back to the Dongfeng landing site on Tuesday.

②Yang Liwei, China's first astronaut in space and now one of the chief planners of the nation's manned space program, said he has high expectation for the post-1980 generation crew. "It's such a pleasure to see the young astronauts can now carry out manned space missions and take on the heavy responsibilities. I am sure the Shenzhou XVIII crew will do well although the mission has become more complicated （复杂的） and difficult." Yang said at the launch center on Wednesday afternoon.

He was an old man who fished alone in a boat and he had gone eighty-four days now without taking a fish. In the first forty days a boy had been with him. But after forty days without a fish, the boy's parents had told him that the old man was now salao, which is the worst form of unlucky, and the boy had gone at their orders in another boat which caught three good fish the first week.

It made the boy sad to see the old man come in each day with his boat empty and he always went down to help him carry fishing tools.

The old man was thin with deep wrinkles（皱纹） in the back of his neck. His hands had the deep scars（伤疤） from dealing with heavy fish. But none of these scars were fresh.

Everything about him was old except his eyes and they were the same color as the sea and were cheerful and full of confidence.

"Santiago", the boy said to him as they climbed from the bank where the boat was pulled up. "I could go with you again. We've made some money."

"No," the old man said. "You' re with a lucky boat. Stay with them."

"But remember how you went eighty-seven days without a fish and then we caught big ones every day for three weeks."

"I remember," the old man said. "I know you did not leave me willingly."

"It was papa who made me leave. I am a boy and I must do what he told me to."

"I know. I quite understand that."

"He hasn't much faith （信念）."

"No," the old man said. "But we have. Haven't we?"

"Yes," the boy said. "Can I offer you a beer on the Terrace and then we'll take the fishing tools home?"

"Why not?" the old man said. "Between fishermen."

They sat on the Terrace. Many fishermen made fun of the old man and he was not angry. Some other older fishermen looked at him and were sad. But they didn't show it and they spoke politely about the sea, the weather and of what they had seen.

Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha Won the Mixed Doubles Championship at the Paris Olympics.

On July 30th, 2024, the table tennis mixed doubles final of the Paris Olympics was held with great excitement. Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha, known as the "Shatou" Pair （莎头组合） , faced the dark horse pair from North Korea, Lee Jeong-sik （林钟勋） and Kim Geum-yeong （申裕斌） .

 Lee's forehand attack was sharp and Kim's backhand skills were also special, which was a big challenge（挑战） for the "Shatou" Pair.  Wang Chuqin's backhand flick was very powerful, and Sun Yingsha's advantages in the first three strokes（击球） were obvious.

The scores of both sides rose in turns and the game was very close. At the critical （关键的） moment, the "Shatou" Pair, with the deep understanding through long-term training, solid（坚固的） technical skills and strong psychological quality, dared to play and fight. Finally. with the scores of 11.6.7.11,11-8,11-5.7-11,11-8, .

This victory was not easy. It fully showed the fighting spirit and excellent skills of the "Shatou" Pair, and also won honor for the Chinese table tennis team at this Olympics. Their excellent performance makes Chinese people proud.

Not long ago, I decided to read a lot of books to （增长） my knowledge. So I went to the library and （返回） with several books. But after a few days, I felt I was not （耐心） enough. It was impossible for me to calm down to read a （整个） book. I didn't know how to deal with this problem. Then suddenly one day, I had an idea: why not make reading fun?
