Even though Jackson got some of the numbers of his address wrong, police saw him outside his home and the father was quickly taken to a local hospital. He is now in good condition. 

The father had been suffering from low sodium because of the medicine he was taking. He told 7 Action News he had taught Jackson and his daughter Mary how to call 911 when something terrible happened to him.

Why do we develop self- driving cars? Self- driving cars have many advantages. They use computers with many cameras which can sense all the objects close to the car and give the computers another route (路线) . Then the car can take people to the place where they want to go. For disabled or blind people, self- driving cars can also help them get around more easily. 

According to US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, each year, more than 1. 35 million people are killed on roads around the world. It's reported that self- driving cars could reduce road accidents by 90 percent. The main cause of car accidents is human error (错误) . By using computers, self- driving cars don't make poor decisions or lose attention like humans do. 

But self- driving cars aren't perfect. If something unexpected on the road happens, self- driving cars can't react as fast as a human driver can. Also, during weather events like heavy snow, self- driving cars wouldn't see the lines on the road easily. It might lead to an accident. The car's computer system would be broken by someone, causing it to crash or change its direction. 

It's clear that there is a lot of work to do to make self- driving cars a common and safe sight on our roads. And China is taking the lead in making this happen. 

After a game like football, the players might get an X- ray in the hospital if they hurt their legs or arms. A dentist can use X- rays to look at teeth. And airport workers use an X- ray machine to check objects before a plane leaves. Nowadays, X- ray technology is widely used in medicine and other fields. 

X- rays were first discovered by a German scientist, Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen (1845-1923) . He found them quite by accident in 1895. One day, he discovered that an unknown kind of radiation (放射线) could hardly pass through hard objects like bones. Later, Röntgen took a photo of his wife's hand. It clearly showed her ring and her bones. That was the first X- ray photo in the world. 

Why is there an "X" in the word X- ray? It's because Röntgen couldn't explain exactly how it worked. He just knew that X- rays were new and useful for science. In fact, X- rays soon became an important tool in medicine. With the help of X- rays, doctors could see inside the human body for the first time without surgery (外科手术) . 

Röntgen was awarded the first Nobel Prize in physics in 1901 for his discovery. When he was asked what he was thinking at the moment of discovery, he replied, "I didn't think, I researched. " Röntgen gave away his Nobel Prize money to his university. And he never took out any patents (专利权) on X- rays, to make sure that the world could freely make use of his discovery.
