Why is it called breaking?
Breaking started in the 1970s, in New York City, US. At parties, dancers got up to perform during musical " breaks", which gave breaking its name. Breaking is now an important part of hip- hop culture around the world.
How to breakdance?
Breaking has four kinds of moves. A " top rock" is when a breaker dances| while standing up. A" down rock" is when a breaker dances on the floor, moving their arms and kicking their| legs. A " freeze" is when a dancer stops in the middle in a cool position, like standing on their head or| balancing with one hand. " Power moves" are really fast spins and twists that look like the dancer is flying or| spinning like a top.

The group went to Liangnong's Intangible Cultural Heritage(非物质文化遗产) Exhibition Hall, where they learned about Yuyao's unique cultural heritage and the local ways of life and traditions.
With the help of a skilled baker, they also learned how to make Liangnong Rice Cake, a traditional local food. People in the area eat this cake during special events like the Lunar New Year, weddings, housewarming parties, and birthdays. It'a symbol of the hope for a good life.
" First, we pour the mixed rice flour into the rice cake mold(模具). Then use tools to make square holes. Next, put sweet fillings into the holes," The skilled baker carefully showed the steps of making Liangnong Rice Cake while telling the Italian teachers and students about its history and culture. The finishing touch, which the students found most interesting, was to print Chinese characters on the cake with a special tool.
"Today's experience was fantastic. We learned how to make Liangnong Rice Cake, and I really enjoyed it. This is my first time in China, and I hope to come to China more in the future," said Giordano Giada, an Italian student.

This time, I also learned about Chinese manners, customs, and traditions. So for me, as someone who studies Chinese culture, it is a very special experience."

Many American people love to see these bright- colored black- and- orange butterflies, but they need our help to stay safe and healthy.
Every year, monarch butterflies travel south to Mexico in the fall and fly back next spring. As the monarchs go south, people in Missouri might start seeing more of these beautiful things. They' ve already been found in places like Kansas City, and even in smaller towns like St. Joseph.
Sadly, the number of monarchs has dropped by 80% in the past twenty years. Monarch caterpillars(毛毛虫) need to eat milkweed (乳草) to grow. Much of the milkweed in the country is gone because of the overuse of herbicides(除草剂) in farming. Without these plants, monarchs have no place to live or find food.
Monarchs plays an important role because, like bees, they can carry pollen(花粉), which help plants make seeds and fruit. Here are some things you can do to help these amazing butterflies:
Plant Milkweed:This is the only plant where monarchs lay their eggs. By planting milkweed in your garden, you can give these butterflies a place to stop and rest during their trip. You can also plant other flowers to provide food for the adult butterflies.
Take Photos: If you you see a monarch, take a photo and up load it to the Western Monarch Milkweed Mapper. You can help follow the movements of monarchs and understand where they are during the year, which is valuable information for researchers.
Help Fight Global Warming:Changes in the weather are making life harder for monarchs. Bad weather hurts milkweed and when the temperature is too high or too low, it's difficult for monarchs to grow up. By doing things to help the environment, like recycling and saving energy, you can help slow down global warming and protect the monarchs.
(1)、When is this passage probably written?A、In spring. B、In summer. C、In fall. D、In winter.(2)、How did the number of monarch butterflies change in the past 20 years?A、 B、 C、 D、(3)、Why are monarch butterflies important?A、Because people enjoy seeing them in nature. B、Because bees need their support to carry pollen. C、Because they can help plants to grow. D、Because they can find food for other animals.(4)、What can ordinary people do to help protect monarchs?A、They can keep monarchs in their own gardens. B、They can plant flowers as food for monarchs. C、They can take photos to follow the milkweed. D、They can stop using energy to help the environment.4. 阅读下面短文, 从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。In 1937, my father, who was almost 20 years old, started a long journey. He traveled a thousand miles across China with his university, Zhejiang University, during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression(抗日战争). The Chinese government wanted to keep the university students safe because they were important for the country's future. As the university planned for the journey, the Head Librarian of Zhejiang Library, asked the university to take a valuable collection of books with them.
The books were called" Siku Quanshu". Created in the 18th century, this was a huge encyclopedia(百科全书) with 2.3 million pages and about 997 million words. It was so important that plans were made to protect it at any cost, even though it added another 230 boxes to the students' cargo.
The journey was not easy. Students and teachers were facing the dangers from air attacks.(空袭). They were always tired and hungry. They had to sleep on the ground in old temples(寺庙) but they continued their classes whenever they could. To protect the books, they tried to move by boat or truck whenever possible; at other times, they would put the boxes into carts(手推车). Sometimes the students had to carry some of the books in their backpacks. One scary moment was when a box of the Siku Quanshu books fell into a river. They quickly saved the books and dried them in a local temple.
After 1,400 miles and 28 months on the road, the university group finally reached a small town called Zunyi in Guizhou province. They stayed there in simple classrooms and dorms, until the war moved deeper into China. To further protect the Siku Quanshu, the books were hidden in a nearby cave, guarded by university staff. The books made it through the war in surprisingly good condition and were sent back to Zhejiang Library.
This amazing story shows how a group of young students and their teachers did everything they could to protect their culture's treasures. They faced many dangers and hardships, but they never gave up. They worked together to keep their knowledge safe.
