The Chinese cheongsam, also known as qipao, is a traditional dress that first appeared in the early 20th century in Shanghai. It has become a symbol of Chinese culture and is worn by women around the world.

The cheongsam hugs the curves(曲线) of the body and is mostly made of silk or cotton. It's typical with a high collar(领), short sleeves(袖) and a short cut on the side of the skirt to make movement easy.

The cheongsam was first worn by wealthy women in Shanghai as a way to show their social positions and wealth. But it quickly became popular among all classes of women as daily clothes. During the 1920s and 1930s, the cheongsam experienced changes and became fitter and better designed with fashionable elements(元素). Nowadays, designers are creating new styles to follow modern fashion.

Today, the cheongsam is often worn for formal situations such as ceremonies, celebrations and cultural events in China. One of the most popular looks of the cheongsam is Anna Wong, a Chinese famous movie star. She often wears cheongsams on and off screen. Her look helps to make the dress win popularity in Hollywood and around the world.

The cheongsam is not just a symbol of fashion, but also of Chinese culture and history. It brings out that Chinese people can always keep up with  changing fashion over years.

The cheongsam has stood the test of time. It will continue to catch eyes of the public and give ideas to people for years to come.

Ahh…aaahhhhchooo! That sneeze(打喷嚏) is uncovered, and the

germs(细菌) fly through the air. But have you ever wondered about the germs in your body? They are small organisms(有机体) that live inside us. It's impossible to keep them out of our bodies. They are so tiny that we don't even know they are coming inside our bodies. Only when we begin to feel uncomfortable, we know they have made us sick.

They come out in a sneeze, a cough, or a breath. They can also be spread by saliva(唾液), sweat(汗液), or blood.For example, a person may touch his or her nose and then touch a tap in a public restroom. If someone else touches that tap right away, he or she may pick up these germs.

How can you protect yourself from germs? Washing your hands is the most important way. Soap and water are germs' enemies.This is why it's so important to wash your hands often, and you'd better wash the hands for about twenty seconds every time.

This means getting enough rest and not being too tired. It also means eating good foods and exercising.  These are germ-fighting secrets!

Maybe you don't think so.  fact, there was take out in the Song Dynasty (960 – 1279).  According to history books,  Emperor Xiaozong (1127–1194) liked ordering takeout late at night. His servants(go) out to pick up the dishes and bring them back to the palace.

Common people also ordered takeout. The owners of restaurants got their waiters to go out into the streets and ask loudly which dishes could (send) that day. People could then place an order. Delivery(快递)  (work) would bring food to their homes later. In the famous Song Dynasty painting Along the River During the Qingming Festival(《清明上河图》).  takeout worker is doing delivery work.  We can easily see the man (walk) with food in his hand in a hurry.

People at that time even had boxes for takeout dishes.  they weren't like normal boxes. They were long(wood) boxes with several layers(层).  People also used plates made of two layers of porcelain(瓷). Hot water could be put between the first layer and the(two). In this way, they could keep the dishes warm.

Confidence is something everyone needs.  Sometimes you may question your level of confidence and wish it to be higher.  Your confidence level makes a difference to what you can achieve. So keeping a high level of confidence is important to you. You can do as follows.

Renew your mind

What you receive decides your mind, so try something new. Read a new book or magazine or listen to a radio you haven't listened to before. In this way, you can challenge your opinions, open a new world and enrich your knowledge.

Also, spend a period of time being on your own and just think about your life sometimes. Keep yourself away from others and enjoy the power of silence.

Choose your friends wisely

Choose people you admire as your friends. It can be helpful to have those friends in your circle. Learn the way they face new challenges and communicate with them more. Keep away from those who always give up.

Let go of the past

Forgive(原谅) people who hurt you in the past. Write a letter to yourself to record your feelings in detail. If there are people who you need to say sorry to, go and do it right away.

Push yourself out of comfort zones

It's easy for us to make excuses for something. Maybe you think it's out of your comfort zone or too difficult. Remember that you can do it. It will help you discover something new about yourself, such as new hobbies or skills.
