It seems that everywhere around the world, people are spending more time on work and less time with their families and friends. People are 1 than ever before! 

In the past in many countries, the father worked and the mother stayed at home, took care of the children, and did the shopping, cooking and cleaning. Now, in most of the families, parents need to work on weekdays, so they both have to do the shopping and cleaning in their free time. Parents don't have much time with their 2 . However, they often had time in the past. 

These days, many children come home from school to an empty apartment or house. Lots of children spend many hours each day sitting in front of the television. Even the families are together, it is common for family members to do things by themselves. For example, they watch programs on their own TVs in different rooms, they use the Internet, they3 friends on the telephone, and they do other activities by themselves. 

Isn't it strange? Thanks to technology (科技), people are able to communicate so 4 with people far away, but sometimes they don't communicate with people in their own homes.

One day, I picked up my daughter Lingling from school and went to the supermarket for a few things. I was hoping to be in and out quickly.

I found a short line with just one person in front of me. It was an old woman, and she was paying for her things with only coins（硬币）. After a long day at work, I thought the woman was very terrible.

But then I watched a young salesman. He helped her count her coins, ever so kindly taking them from her shaking hands. He repeatedly said to her, "Yes, ma'am（女士）."When she asked if she had enough money to buy a bag, he told her she did. Then he walked over two lines and got one for her. This salesman wasn't angry at all. He was patient and kind.

As I was watching him, I saw Lingling was, too. I realized my daughter was learning an important lesson from a stranger.

When the woman was finished, the salesman began ringing up my things and thanked me for my patience（耐心）. I thanked him, too. I found the manager and told him about the salesman's kindness and patience.

Then we left the supermarket with a full basket, but also with a heart full of thankfulness for such an important lesson.

Everyone may have the influence(影响) of worries. But how do you deal with your worries? Whether your worries are big or small, you can take the following advice to deal with your worries:

    Other times, you might not. Try to find it out first; if you can't, you can't ask for help.

Think of ways to make it better

There is always something you can do to help you feel less worried. And it won't solve your problem.

Grades at school are often top worries for kids. If you're worried about grades, ask yourself these questions:

★ Why are grades important? What do grades mean to me?

★ How do I get ready for class? Do I go over my notes even when there isn't a test?

★ Do I have a good place to do my homework?

★ Have I tried different ways of studying?

If your worry is about a fight you had with a friend, you might write down all the things you could do.Say sorry to him or her in person, etc. Once you have a list of things you could do, you can choose the one that gets your friend back.

Ask for help

 When you're worried , it can help to find someone to talk to. You can ask your parents, friends, or teachers for help.

Pandas live in the forests and mountains of Southwest China. They're popular with people all around the world. They are certainly a treasure of our country. Then how about their dung（粪便）? Is it thrown away? No, it is treasures, too. How? 

The panda keeper provides an adult panda with about 25 kilos of bamboo every day. Of that, the panda will eat about eleven kilos— the most delicious parts. Because the panda can't digest(消化) all the bamboo completely, its dung includes much undigested bamboo. Can people make use of it? It seems impossible for many people. However, someone turned it into paper successfully.

"In my opinion, it's a great achievement," a panda keeper says. "In the past, we didn't think the dung was useful, so we just threw it away like rubbish. But now workers come and take the dung away. They use the dung to make paper. They also make notebooks and bookmarks. It is also good for the environment."

However, the paper doesn't sell well at the Panda Base. It is not popular with tourists. Most of them won't buy it after they visit the Panda Base. "A box of paper is 43 Yuan," They said. "That's quite expensive." If you see the paper at the Panda Base, will you buy it?

With the development of the technology，people's life has changed a lot.In the past，connecting（联络） with friends meant spending time with them in person(亲自). Today，most young people like to connect with their friends online better.They think it is a good way to keep in touch with（与……保持联系） their friends.However，experts worry that many young people are so busy connecting with friends online that they may lose their real﹣world friendships（友谊）.

Staying connected online is not enough to build true friendships.Spending time together face﹣to﹣face is also quite important.During the hard times，people don't need someone who likes their pictures or posts.What they really need is someone who can offer them help.

Eating is important to everyone. But not many people have time to think about what to eat."Fast food is easy," says Sarah Hudson, fourteen-year-old high school student from America. She is enjoying her lunch at McDonald's. "It is quick and delicious."She eats fast food twice a week. Most Americans know that fast food isn't good them.But it seems that they just can't give it up. In fact, more and more people are eating fast food, and 96% of American school children know McDonald's and KFC. It's no surprise that children getting heavier because they love eating French fries. In America, 33% of them are too heavy. That makes it hard for them to move around, go upstairs and even breathe. If they go on eating like this, maybe they will have health problems later in life.

Setting an example for all: coming forward when needed

Zhang Yu in the army since he finished senior high school. Now working as a deliveryman (快递员) in Wuhan, Zhang works hard every day. The work is not always and usually tiring. However, Zhang never loses his spirit and . 

In December 2021, on his way to pick up some deliveries (快递), he found that a fire broke out in one apartment with a family still stuck inside(困在里面). It took Zhang 3 minitues  up to the third floor and saved the family. When people cheered for him, Zhang said nothing andoff on his motorbike, continuing with his work. Many people didn't know Zhang saved the family until the short video went viral (走红) on Douyin. Talking about the event, Zhang  said, "I'm not a hero（英雄）.  just did what a kind man would do."

Zhang came forward when needed. He set an example for all of us.
