  Veldheer likes cooking，but he was not sure if he wanted to work in a school kitchen. But when he saw the job in the newspaper，he took it happily. His two children's school didn't have anyone to run their kitchen just weeks before the start of the new school year. He thought， "I'd like a job to do with my time. And I'll be around my two children. That is a good idea to work there."
    Veldheer is tall and strong，and doesn't look like a usual cook. His working style（风格）is different from others. He doesn't make usual meals like pizzas or hamburgers. He uses his interest in exercise science and nutrition（营养）to make healthy and delicious meals for the students.
    To make the meals better，he asks students for ideas. Then he makes some changes（变化）. It's not easy work，but Veldheer does his best to make the lunch special and delicious. The students love him and they are happy to taste his new food.

Cathy is a very beautiful English teacher. She is tall and she has long curly hair. Her eyes are always full of love for her students. 

Betty is a thin woman teacher. She has short straight hair and she doesn't wear glasses. She doesn't look like a music teacher, but she is students' favourite music teacher in the school. 

Helen wants to find a job, so on a sunny morning she starts to dress herself up. Soon she has a new look. She has long curly brown hair and wears a white T-shirt and blue jeans. She looks tall and beautiful.

When she walks in the street, she finds a big whiteboard in front of a shop. There is a notice on it—"A worker wanted in our shop". She goes into the shop. The owner meets her. He asks Helen some questions and she answers them well. Then the man says, "OK, you can get the job. Please come to work next Monday." Helen is so happy and asks, "How much will you pay me?" The man answers, "In the first three months, I'll pay you 400 dollars every month. Then I'll pay you 50 dollars more from the fourth month." "Great! I'll come and work here three months later then," Helen says happily.

It's the story of Hua Mulan. Hua Mulan was not（像） other girls.She loved to  （练习） with her father's sword（剑）. One day，some soldiers came to her （村庄）. It was a small one with only about three （百） people. " One man in every family has to be a soldier," they said. Mulan（担心） father was too old and her brother was too  （幼小的）. That night，Mulan dressed up as a man. She jumped onto her horse and (骑) off. In the army，she was an （优秀的） soldier. The war ended twelve years later. "Mulan？Is that you？" her father asked （激动） . Mulan cried，"Yes，Father! I'm （回来）!"

Some strangers (陌生人) look very  (friend), but never talk to them and never take gifts from them. If you do, you'll be  great danger.

If you get  (lose) in a place, be careful of whom you ask for help. Ask a policeman or someone with  child for help.

Eyes are very important to us . Everyone wants to have bright （明亮的） eyes, but many children don't know how to protect （保护） them. More and more children wear glasses before going to middle school. Here are some ways to protect our eyes .

Love our eyes .

We use our eyes to see everything around us every day. When we open our eyes,we can see lovely friends and parents, beautiful flowers and green trees. If our eyes don't work, everything will be in the dark . How important our eyes are !
