' Sorceress ! Where is Merlin ?' shouts Sir Gawaine. 

Lady Vivien laughs. Under the stones !' she replies. 

Then she hits Sir Gawaine with her wand. He becomes a dwarf with an ugly face. Lady Vivien's men all laugh at Sir Gawaine. 

Sir Gawaine cannot believe it. He runs away through the forest. Soon, he finds a castle. The lady of the castle is kind and looks after him. He stays for three years, but he is unhappy. He is still an ugly dwarf. One day, he sees a golden bird. It flies away, but he follows it. They travel far together, and the bird always waits for Sir Gawaine. At last, the golden bird takes Sir Gawaine to Merlin. 

Lady Vivien's magic is strong. Merlin is still sleeping. But every six years, he wakes up for one hour. Merlin opens his eyes.'Find the Holy Grail,' he tells Sir Gawaine,' But first,find a baby called Galahad. This child can find the Holy Grail. '

Then, slowly, Merlin falls asleep again. 

Sir Gawaine leaves Merlin and follows the golden bird. It takes him to the land of Nymue, the Lady of the Lake. Nymue listens to Sir Gawaine's story. She feels sorry for him and she stops Lady Vivien's magic. Sir Gawaine becomes a man again. 

He leaves Nymue and meets Sir Bors. Together they follow the golden bird and it takes them to the castle of Lady Elaine. There, they find Sir Lavaine, Lady Elaine's brother. But Lady Elaine is close to death. Sir Lavaine takes Sir Gawaine and Sir Bors to see her. Lady Elaine has a son. His father is Sir Lancelot and his name is Galahad. 

' Please take my son and look after him,' Lady Elaine says to Sir Bors. 

A few days later, Lady Elaine dies. 

Sir Gawaine's search is over. But a new one is beginning - the search to find the Holy Grail. 

Life at the white house on the hill changes after that. A maid（女仆）and a cook come to their house. Mother stops writing her stories and has more time for the children. Then one day Phyllis says, "We never go to see the railway now. "

"It's true," says Bobbie. "And we don't send our love to Father with the 9:15 train. "

The next day they run to the railway line and wave（挥动）their handkerchiefs（手帕）at the 9:15 train. The old gentleman waves back. But that day he waves his newspaper very hard. And all the passengers（乘客）on the train start to wave. They stand at the windows and wave their handkerchiefs, newspapers and hands.

Suddenly the 11:54 train comes and Mr. Perks must go. When the train stops, three people get off. A farmer, a lady with some boxes and.. .

"Daddy! My daddy!" Bobbie shouts, "I can't believe you're really here. It is a very special day. I'm so happy!"

Father tells Bobbie that the man from his office is the spy（间谍）. He is in prison（监狱）now. "Thanks to Jim's grandfather," he says. " Now everyone knows the truth. They know that I'm not a spy. I'm very, very happy with my family again. "
