People still paint their faces for lots of reasons. Patterns on faces connect people to a tribal(部落的) family and can show who is the most important person in the family.For fighters, it is a way to make their enemies afraid.

How is the face painting important in theater?

The face painting was important in Japanese and Chinese ancient ceremonies. It was also used in traditional theater to change the actors' roles. Actors in those countries still wear white, black and red face painting today to show feelings and make the bad people look dramatic(戏剧性的) and awful.

Where does the paint come from?

Tribal people make the paint from the natural colors in plants and earth. Plant parts are used to make different colorings. The ingredients are dried over a fire and then made into powder. It is then mixed with animal fat.

A research shows that good listeners are more likely to do well at work and have more happiness. If you want to become a great listener, you should consider the following four  of advice on high-quality listening.

The first is to pay attention to what others are . There is a simple reason for people having trouble listening. They don't have  patience to finish listening to others.

Having the ability to understand others' feelings  also helpful. You can try your best to put yourself in others' shoes so that you can develop your listening skills.

You should control your emotions(情绪),  they are good or bad. If you can't control them, you will express  too early without letting the speakers make their points. Wait for the other person to finish. That is a simple exercise to keep your feelings and thoughts under control.

Finally, show  you have been listening. It's also  to show the other person that you have been paying attention to  he is saying. So when it's your turn to speak, make sure that your talk includes the other person's points.

It is worth remembering that listening is not different  any other skills. We all need to practice skills of being a good listener.

Chinese food is very famous in the world. Chinese people think food is one of the most important things during their life. They do not greet each other with"How are you?"but they ask, "Have you eaten?"

Since table manners are part of Chinese cooking culture, Chinese people still follow their table manners today.

There is a seat for the"guest of honor"or the oldest person in the family. In most parts of China, the"seat of honor"is usually the one facing the front door of the room.The"seat of honor"can also be the one in the middle facing east of the room if there is  no seat facing the door.

As for the host, he may take the most convenient seat. It is always the nearest to the kitchen or service door. It is better to sit after the elder or the"guest of honor"sits down. Guests should wait for the host to invite them to get seated.

Chinese people like having meals together and they put all the dishes on a round table. There is sometimes a round rotating disc(旋转盘) in the center of the dining table. It makes sure that all the diners(用餐者) can enjoy the meal and feel respected.
