Last year, my parents took me on a very winter holiday.

My dream was to see some real snow, so during the winter holiday, we flew to the north. Then we took a bus to a ski resort(滑雪度假村).  the bus was climbing the mountains, we saw the thick snow on the trees. I really wanted to get out and play with it! At last, we arrived at the resort and  jumped out of the bus. This was our  experience with snow. We were  little children—we made snowballs and threw them at one another! On the second day, we had a sking . Our coach showed us some basic skills. To be honest, the first lesson was not a great success. I kept falling over, and I had to hold on to a rope  my balance. 

However, the next day, I only fell over a few  and I managed to do a few runs. I felt proud of  , and my coach told me I was doing much better. I  most of my holiday practising sking. I had a wonderful time.

It was all over too soon. What a pity! I  my parents would take me back for another wonderful skiing holiday this year.

School Library Guide

This will offer you some information about our school library. You can use this guide to help your kids use our library.

Service hours:

3:00 p.m.—5:30 p.m. on school days.

8:30 a.m.—1l:00 a.m. on weekends.

On school days, your kids may borrow or return books during opening hours only when his classroom teacher allows him to. At the weekend, our library is open to both you and your kids.

Borrowing points:

Each student can borrow one or two books at a time. More books can be borrowed only for class reading activities and school research.

Returning points:

Books borrowed from the library can be kept for 15 school days. The books must be returned on time, or the kid can't borrow other books!

Damaged or lost books:

When a book is returned in a damaged condition, the kid will have to pay three dollars for the damage. Full price must be paid if a book is lost. We encourage students to carry their library books in plastic bags to protect them from rainy weather.

Can you play soccer? Do you know a soccer player Sadio Mané? Mané was born in Africa in 1992. Now he is a popular soccer player in the world. He was also the 2019 African Footballer of the Year.

When Mané was only a kid, he showed great talent in soccer. At the age of 15, he started getting soccer training and then joined the national team. Day by day, he played better and better and joined some soccer clubs. In 201l, he joined FC Metz.Then he joined Southampton F.C. in 2014. Two years later, he joined Liverpool F. C.

Now he makes a lot of money a year. With a lot of money, Mané can enjoy a nice life. However, he doesn't let his fame or money go to his head. The news showed just how plain Mané was. It had a photo of him carrying a cracked (有裂纹的) phone.

①Carmen had always dreamed of being on stage. She was excited when she got her first big break with a part in the school play. She would play a part of the doctor. She would wear long, white doctor's coat and carry a big bag that held a newspaper with blank(空白的) pages and a box of bandages. Carmen would say some lines. She would do some funny acts and try to make her friends laugh. She could hardly wait to act in a real play on stage.

②As the play came closer, Carmen began to worry about being on stage. She just couldn't remember her lines. She sat in her bedroom, saying the lines over and over again. They just wouldn't stick in her head. It would be terrible if she forgot her lines on stage. She thought for a long time and decided to give up the play. She still wanted to be in the play, but she didn't want to risk making a fool of herself on stage.

③Carmen walked into the kitchen and said she wouldn't be in the play. " Don't worry so much," Carmen's father said. "You're a talented young girl. You are a natural performer." "Yes," her mother agreed, "You'll do better if you relax."

④Carmen knew they were right, but she couldn't stop worrying. Suddenly, she had a great idea. She took out the newspaper and wrote all of her lines on the blank pages. Now she could look at the newspaper and no one would know she was reading her lines. This would help her relax. That day, Carmen went on stage. She said her first line. Then she said her next line. Carmen didn't look at the newspaper once. Remembering her lines was easy because she was relaxed. As a result, Carmen remembered everything. After the play, Carmen let out a long deep breath and smiled happily. Carmen's parents went backstage, they rushed over to congratulate her on a job well done.
