Think, Pair and Share

Time—30 minutes

Description—You can create questions based on a particular topic taught in the class. You can pair up your students for this activity. Give them enough time to think and come up with solutions. They will be able to discuss on those particular topics.

Benefits—With this task, students can get into conversation with partners and develop their confidence and communication skills.

Group Discussion

Time—30 minutes

Description—Divide the class into two to three groups with equal participants (参与者) focused on a single topic. Each group has to share their ideas and thoughts on the same topic.

Benefits—In class discussions, there are interaction (互动) and teamwork among the students. Here students are learning from each other.

Quiz

Time—20 minutes

Description—You can divide the class into two groups, and ask questions related to the subject to each group. Each question is made up of four choices from which they have to choose the right answer. The group with the correct answer will get the points.

Benefits—This activity helps the students get knowledge and teamwork and improves memory.

Pictionary

Time—5 minutes

Description—Students are always excited to take part in this activity. You can divide the class into two groups and ask one of the students to pick up a word and draw a picture describing it. The opposite group is supposed to guess the word, and if they correctly guess the word, they will get to draw next.

Benefits—This helps students in improving concentration focus and communication skills.

All we know about the abandoned (被抛弃的) newborn cat that made news for its genetic rareness comes from a web. A user named Vodkaholy posted a handful of photos of the tiny cat with a few background details.

No one knows how the newborn cat ended up in a rubbish bag, but it is very common for heartless people to abandon cats they choose not to care for. Luckily, Vodkaholy's aunt heard the tiny mews that the cat was letting out. It appears she was the one who rescued the baby, who was only a week old. Not only had the cat been immediately abandoned after it was born, but it was injured and had developed a serious illness. Just a few days old, it had a broken leg and a badly injured paw (爪). Sadly, after the cat's rescuer took it to the vet (兽医), they found out that the paw couldn't be saved.

No doubt it was a shock to find such a sad cat abandoned in the rubbish bag, but the vet had another big surprise for the woman. It was a male calico cat (花斑猫)! The vet said it was really scarce for calico cats to be male. However, it won't be a dad to any more calico cats. It was born with some kind of illness, but the vet said it's normal for male calico cats. "Except for that, it is a normal happy cat, healthy as a horse," Vodkaholy said.

Vodkaholy's aunt is keeping the cat. It grows healthy and happy even if it only has 3 paws. And it is not the first cat this sweet aunt has brought home.

Boredom is a common human experience. It's almost impossible to fully avoid it, especially when you're living a fast-paced life. You may be bored from time to time and feel like you need something new or exciting in your life. It's perfectly natural to feel this way from time to time, but feeling bored often can also mean that your present life isn't satisfying you as much as it could. 

When you feel bored, think about what activities bring you joy and happiness. Perhaps you find that hobbies are what help improve your spirits when life feels standstill. After all, having interests and pursuing (追求) them often can have a great effect on the quality of your life and how satisfied you feel. If this sounds like something that would benefit your life, we have some great ideas for hobbies to pursue when you're bored! 

One of the easiest and most effective ways to relieve (缓解) boredom is to take exercise. Exercise is not only good for your body but also your mind. When your body is moving, it re-leases (释放) certain chemicals that make you feel good. Learning a new language is another way to challenge yourself and become more creative. It can also open up a whole new culture and way of thinking for you! Many people find that learning a new language gives them a sense of achievement that they don't get from other hobbies.

Furthermore, reading is a hobby that can be enjoyed by almost anyone. It's inexpensive, easy to fit into your plan and can be done just about anywhere. It doesn't require special equipment or supplies, and you can do it alone or with others. The last way to avoid feeling bored inside is to spend time outdoors. Find a place to go where you can get away from the noise and other troubles. You may find that being outside offers a sense of peace and calmness. 

Boredom is a common part of life, so we shouldn't try to avoid it completely. Boredom can be a sign that you need a change in your daily life and something new to try. If you find yourself feeling bored, use these ideas to find new hobbies. After all, hobbies can greatly enrich your life and help you feel more satisfied!

There are many ways in which a person's body language can give you information about whether they are lying or not. 

One of the biggest signs that a person is telling lies is that he avoids eye contact during conversation. He may also touch his face often, covering his mouth with his hand very often. Touching the nose is also said to be a sign of taking others' attention to cover up lies. A person who is not telling the truth may be trying to make you focus on his actions rather than his words. 

When a liar (说谎者) tells lies, his physical expression is often very stiff (僵硬的). If he is smiling as he speaks, only the mouth will move. A real smile naturally causes movement of the mouth, eyes, forehead, cheeks, and jaw. 

The liar's hand, leg and arm movements are toward his own body. He takes up little space. The person's body language is closed off. Liars do not look relaxed, even though they may be trying to give the impression that they are. 

When explaining something, a liar usually feels uncomfortable with pauses (停顿) or silences. The person may speak gently or in disordered words. A very skillful liar is able to speak directly and with confidence. In fact, some salespeople are best at this skill. 

If you doubt someone is lying, change the topic of conversation suddenly. The liar will willingly change topics with you and become more relaxed. A person who is telling the truth will generally become confused by this sudden change. Another sign of someone telling a lie is yawning (哈欠) — the person may try and look as relaxed as possible, and yawing and stretching are ways of achieving this.

Most students are likely to think that their brain is not suitable for a few subjects that they are uncomfortable with.However, because maths is one of the most important subjects in any competitive exam, mastering the subject is necessary for moving forward with confidence. Here are some useful suggestions to help you get over your fear of maths.

Simply remembering formulae (公式) without understanding them will make things difficult for you. Try to understand the theories behind the formulae; once the concept (概念) is clear, you don't have to make additional efforts to remember the formulae.

Focus on your strengths. Spend more time improving your skills on the topics that you are confident about. Go through former year's question papers to have an idea about how much confidence these topics can bring to you.This might help you calm down and improve your level of confidence.

Accept the right guidance. Never be shy about asking questions, whether teachers or friends. Ask your questions whenever you are in doubt. This will help you have a better understanding of the subject.

Practice regularly (定期地).Regular practice can help you improve your speed, make you learn new and easier methods of solving problems and make you familiar with more questions, so that you can gain a greater advantage in the exams.

I recently went to a jam session (即兴演奏) with some other musicians in town. When I used to jam with other musicians, I spent more time in my head1 about may drumming (鼓声) instead of2 paying attention to what was going on. This time though, I found that I was more3 and was able to support the other musicians more through my playing. 

Because of this, our4 was better than ever before, and I could feel the audience was5 the music more too, because the music was6 about me; it was about all of us connecting through the7 language of music.

I believe that the best musicians in the world have this in11 , which is to see past their own egos, and to listen to or connect with their12 and fellow musicians. I've13 all of this thanks to my practice of being a more kindhearted and caring person. As I grow into a more kindhearted and caring person, I can now bring14 to not only those in my daily life, but also through my music, and to those who15 .

In early autumn, pandas in the forests of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda in the Wolong National Nature Reserve, in Wenchuan, Sichuan Province, attract many  (tour). 

In March 1999, two pandas, Jia Jia and An An,  (send) to Hong Kong from Si chuan, settled in the Ocean Park. It was the first time  Hong Kong had pandas living in  (it) zoo. In 2007, another pair of giant pandas, Ying Ying and Le Le, also came to Hong Kong from Sichuan  (join) Jia Jia and An An. 

On May 12, 2008, the Wenchuan earthquake  (cause) huge damage to the center and the buildings were  (complete) destroyed. During the post-disaster reconstruction (重建), Hong Kong helped by  (donate) 1.42 billion yuan for more than 23 assistance projects. After more than five years of reconstruction efforts, the new center-the Chinese Giant Panda Park—was successfully opened on May 11, 2016. In the five years since then, more than 120 giant panda cubs have been born at the park. 

"Thanks  the giant pandas, we are establishing more cooperative exchanges with Hong Kong, especially in breeding," said Li Guo,  expert at the Center's management office.

Hillary Harris lived with her husband and daughter in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. However, she was thinking of moving. Not because she didn't like the house or the neighborhood, but because of the house next door. First of all, she hated that her family had to share the driveway with the neighbors, while she also disliked the fact that tenants(租户) came and went to that house all the time. And when a couple in their 50s moved next door, it wasn't any different. Hillary felt that she had had enough, so she didn't even try to be warm towards them. 

"Here we go again," she thought. "Now what?" As she admitted, she was "turned off" by the woman next door and that they were cold to each other. 

"She would not accept me anyhow, "Dawn Johnson, the new neighbor recalled. "I would come to get my mail, shut it and watch her walk into the house. " But everything was about to change in an unbelievable way. 

Hillary knew she had been adopted(收养)when she was a baby, as well as she knew she had several halfsiblings (兄弟姐妹). In fact, she had already managed to reunite with three of them through the Internet. But there was still one half-sibling that she couldn't track down. All she knew was that her name was Dawn Johnson. She had found three other half- siblings on the Internet, but she was having no luck with Dawn. She was beginning to think that she'd never find her. 

When she realized her new neighbor's name was Dawn, she kind of had a feeling that she just might be her sister. She learned that the woman's first name was Dawn and that she was from Greenwood-the same town where Dawn Johnson had lived according to what she had learned from her father, Wayne Clouse. She told her husband, "Her name is Dawn-what if she's my sister?" They both laughed and said, "No way! No way could that be. "
