Uncle Li and Uncle Wang are good friends. They live next to each other and their farms are both at the foot of the mountain. So they can help each other. But neither of them likes to use his head. They're both poor though they work hard. Most villagers have built new houses, but they still live in the low and broken houses. They never find out why.

Once Uncle Li went to town to buy some medicine for his wife. In the town he heard the apples in a city were expensive. He told Uncle Wang about it as soon as he went back. They decided to carry some apples to the city. They borrowed some money from their friends and bought nearly 1,000 kilograms of apples in the villages and carried them to the city on a tractor. Bad luck! A lot of apples had already been carried there when they arrived. A few days later they had to sell them at a low price .They felt unhappy and returned to their village.

"I can't understand why we sustain(蒙受) losses in business while others always           ," Uncle Li asked one day.

The tractor was too small," Uncle Wang said without thinking. "We'll carry more apples on a truck next time!"

"I agree!" said Uncle Li. "How foolish (傻的) we were!"

Jenny is twelve years old. Today is her birthday. She gets three gifts (礼物) from her family. The blue box is from Jenny's brother Tom. What is in it? It's a new red watch. Jenny loves it. Is it a cup in the red box? No, it isn't. You can see a set of CDs in the box. This gift is from Maria. Maria is Jenny's aunt. What a beautiful yellow box! There is a red jacket in it. The gift is from Jenny's cousin in China. Her name is Li Fei.

Asha, 13, lives in America. She comes from Japan. She can't go to school these days. Her school is closed because of COVID-19(新冠肺炎). She loves school, so she expects(期待) her school to open soon. Asha does many things every day. She studies by herself at home. 

Asha doesn't have a computer, so she goes to the school to get her schoolwork. Her teacher leaves her work on the reception desk(and Asha gets it every Monday morning. She does her homework for two or three hours in the afternoon.

    Many English people would like to live in houses, not flats. Because most houses have gardens. They like growing vegetables and flowers when they are free.

    Daily life( 日常生活)

    Most office workers start working at about 9:00 in the morning and finish it at about 5:00 in the afternoon. They don't go home for lunch. They just have quick meals at noon. They usually have big meals on the weekend. Many English people like outdoor sports and traveling. They think they are good for their health.

    School life

    Classes begin at about 9:00 a.m. and children go back home at about 3:30 p.m. Most children have lunch at school. All children go to school, when they are four or five years old.

    Shops

    Most shops open at about 9:00 a.m. and close at about 6:00 p.m. Usually, they don't close for lunch.

Embroidery（刺绣）is often seen as"women's work. "People think that it's not 1for a boy to learn it. Therefore, Fu Jian's parents didn't want him to2in this industry（行业）. But Fu didn't care. He believed he could do it 3.

Fu was born into an embroidery 4in Yangzhou. His mother is a master craftswoman （女工匠） of Suzhou embroidery. Fu5this beautiful art when he was only four years old. In his last year of high school, Fu was clear about his life6：to make this traditional art become more popular.
