In England people usually don't talk very much. On a bus or a train, you can see everyone sits there looking out of the window. And they don't talk much. When you meet English people, they often talk about one thing—the weather. So when you meet someone in England, you can say "It's fine today, isn't it?"

"But it was a little cold yesterday. " He may answer.

"Oh, it will be warmer later!" you can say. Talk like this, and the English will think, "How friendly you are!"

Boys and girls love to watch TV. Some children spend(花费) six hours a day in school and four hours a day in front of the TV set. Some children even watch TV for eight or more hours on Saturday. TV programs （节目） are like books or films. A child can learn bad things from some of them and good things from others. Some programs help children to know the news from other countries or other times in history. 

With TV a child doesn't need to go to the zoo to see animals or to the sea to see a ship. Boys and girls can see a film, a play or a basketball match at home. Some programs can teach children how to cook or how to use tools(工具). It is interesting to watch TV, but it is also interesting to read a book or to visit friends.
