After a lot of writing Benard Shaw(萧伯纳) wanted to go to the countryside and stay there for a rest.

One sunny afternoon Mr Shaw was having a walk in the quiet field. The air was fresh and the land was beautiful. He was very happy. When he was walking along, a man riding a bike ran into him and Mr Shaw fell to the ground, slipped to the muddy field before he could stand up.

The man was very sorry and came off his bike to help Mr Shaw to stand up. Luckily, Shaw was not hurt.

"I'm very sorry," said the man.

"Oh, no;" said Bernard Shaw, shrugging his shoulders, "it's me who should say sorry. I'm sorry for not giving any luck to you. "

The man was very surprised and didn' t know what to say.

Mr Shaw said, "If you had killed me, you know you would be known all over the world. "

The Jackson lives in Campton It's an old small town. Grandpa Harry is 65 years old. He likes to go fishing in the pond with Joe and play chess with his friends. The Jacksons often have grandpa's fish for supper. Volleyball is Joe's favourite sport. He often plays it after school. Joe's father, Bill, is a Maths teacher in Joe and Mary's school. He is very good at baseball He is in the baseball team of the town.

Joe has a sister. Her name is Mary. Mary likes baseball very much. Joe and Mary like to watch their father playing with other teams. Joe's mother, Diana, likes sports, too. She is good at playing tennis. She often goes shopping with marry. But there are only some small shops in the town.

All the family members like sports and they often go to the sports center on weekends in Campton. Campton is small, but they love it.

Mr Brown was a dance teacher. He was a nice man and always had a lot of students who used to come to his classes every week. One year he moved to a new town and was soon teaching a lot of students in the dance school there but then he decided to move again to a big city where he would have more work.

When one of the ladies who often came to his classes heard that he was leaving, she said to him, "The teacher who takes your place won't be as good as you are. "

Mr Brown was happy when he heard this, he said, "Oh, no! I'm sure he'll be as good as I am, or even better. " The lady said, "No, five teachers have come and gone since I've been here, and each new one was worse than the last. "

I was eight, I a book about stars. That was the of my lifetime hobby.

I to go outside with my mum clear nights and look at the sky. It looked like black velvet a million on it. In different seasons, we saw different groups of stars.

Sometimes we saw stars brightly across the sky. beautiful they were!  

O. Henry was a great (write). His pen name was O. Henry. His real name was William Sydney Porter. He was born in North California in 1862. When he was about 20 years old, O. Henry went to Texas, there he (try) different jobs, and then had a job as a bank assistant. When some money went missing from the bank, some people (think) he was the thief, so he was sent into prison. During the three years in prison, he learned to write short (story).

After he got out of the prison, he went to New York and continued the (life) of the poor there. People liked his way of (write).

If you are born in summer, you could be sunny person. If you are born in winter, you could be less sunny. That is to say, the season of birth affects our personality.

The result comes from a study of mice. In the study, some mice were given 16 hours if light and eight hours of darkness every day. This is like the long days and short nights of summer. Other mice had only eight hours of lights. This like the short days and long nights of winter. After some time, scientists placed the mice into darkness, and watched what they would do.

"Those summer mice eat, play and sleep as usual, but those winter mice have difficulty in dealing with the change. " said a scientist.

This is just like humans. Those winter babies will spend more time dealing with a change in seasons. This will slowly affect their mood and their outlook towards life. Well, you can watch your classmates and find whether this result is true.

Long, long ago there lived a man in a small town. His name was Nicholas. He was a bishop. He usually wore a long red robe with a red hat.

One day, Nicholas heard a sad story of poor old man and his three daughters. That night, Nicholas climbed up to the rooftop of their house, and dropped three bags of gold down the chimney. Each bag fell into one of the stockings by the fireplace.

The next morning, the girls were surprised to find gold coins in their stockings. "We have got a magic gift!"

 Soon the story spread across the town. Many people began hanging their stockings by the fireplace. Next morning, they all found gifts in their stockings. Nickolas left these gifts at night! Today, people called him" Santa Claus" or Father Christmas".

Studying the stars was great fun for me. Once I learnt a little about them, I soon wanted to find out more and more. Now it is my career. (A) I host a TV programme called The Sky at Night. Yao Ming, the centre for Chinese National Men's Basketball Team, went to play for the NBA in 2002.

Yao Ming was born Shanghai in September 1980. His mother was the captain of the Chinese National Women's Team.

He came to be a very important basketball player in the China Basketball Association (CBA). During the 2000-2001 season,

  Yao Ming joined the Houston Rockets in November 2002. He would do his best to learn from the NBA and improve his game.
