People in Semporna are not only friendly but also helpful. They are always glad to be your models. The boat is the only means of transportation(交通方式) in Semporna. People are good at driving the boat including the children. Life of the children in Semporna is very simple. They have no homework to do because they do not attend school. They have nothing to worry about besides playing happily in the water. It's not surprising that they are all good swimmers. 

Many subjects are waiting for you to explore(探索). If you ever go to Semporna, make sure you find an experienced local guide. He or she will lead you to all the fantastic sights. 

Different countries have different customs(习俗) in the world. It's very important for us to know about them. 

When you go to the US, someone often says to you "give me five". What should you do? Don't get five dollars from your pocket! It will make others laugh! The person isn't asking for your money, but your fingers. 

In the US, "give me five "or "give me the high five" is a popular gesture. You can see it often in films or on TV. It means hitting each other's right hands together. 

People do it when they meet for the first time or something happy happens. For example, a student has good marks in exams. If a football team wins a game, the players will give high fives to everyone around to celebrate. 

This gesture may come from the old Roman gesture of lifting the right arm for the emperor(皇帝). This showed the person lifting his arm didn't have a sword(剑) in his hand. 

Why not try to give the high five to your friends?

World Laughter Day was started in Mumbai, India in 1998 by Dr Marian Kataria, organizer of the worldwide Laughter Yoga activity. 

The celebration of World Laughter Day is for world peace and is a plan to make good friends through laughter. Now more and more people are joining the Laughter Yoga movement. On January 9th, 2000, more than 10, 000 people gathered(聚集) in Denmark to celebrate the first World Laughter Day. It was very successful. 

World Laughter Day is now celebrated on the first Sunday of May every year. Hundreds of people all over the world laugh together on that day. No one thinks that laughing doesn't make us feel good.

When different people laugh together, they can get along better. Many difficult problems can become easier to solve if people feel good. Laughter is a world language, which is the same in every country. We should believe that only laughter can bring the world together and help people become good friends.
