Hello, I'm Daisy. During the summer holiday, I went to a beach town with my mum. We stayed there for one day and night.

In the morning, l collected shells on the beach. I found a very big one. It looked like a hat. The weather was sunny and hot, but I didn't swim, because I wasn't good at it. There was a Chinese white dolphin in the water. I didn't see it, but the lifeguard did!

In the afternoon, my mother took me to the museum near the beach, but it didn't open, so we didn't go in. We went to the shopping centre and bought some gifts for my dad. I also sent some postcards to my e-friends in other countries.

At night, my mother and I walked on the beach and looked at the stars. They were beautiful!

One day, a famous magician foretold (预言) the death of a man. The man was the king's friend. The man did die on the day foretold. The king was angry. He said it was all because of the magician.

When the magician came to the palace, the king said, "You could foretell the death of my friend. Can you foretell the date of your own death?" "The magician was scared. He thought the king was going to kill him. After a while, he had an idea.

"Your Majesty," he said, "I cannot foretell the exact(确切的) date of my death, but I can foretell that I shall die one day before you. "This time, the king was scared. He asked the best doctors to take care of the magician and the strongest soldiers to protect him. He wanted the magician to live longer and longer.

Last summer holiday, I went to my uncle's home with my friends. My uncle lives on a farm near Nanjing. It is a beautiful and big farm. My uncle showed us a lot of photos about his farm at first. There were many cows, chickens, ducks, and fruit trees on the farm. I picked a lot of pears, apples and oranges with my friends. We ate some fruit for our dinner. It was very hot. But the boys still had a good time on the farm. Our summer holiday was very fun.

Hello! We are students from Thailand. And we want to save the elephants. The elephant is one of Thailand's symbols(象征). Our first flag(国旗) has a white elephant on it. This is a symbol of good luck.

Elephants are clever. They can play football. They can also draw very well. Elephants can walk for a long time and never get lost. They can also remember places with food and water.

But they are in great danger now. People cut down too many trees, so elephants lose their homes. People also kill elephants for the ivory(象牙) . There were more than 100, 000elephants before, but today there are only about 3, 000 in Thailand. We must save the elephants and not buy things made of ivory. Remember that 13th March is Thailand Elephant Day.

My neighbour Ms. Lee is a zookeeper. Her job is to look after the animals in the zoo. She feeds the animals washes them and cleans their rooms. She loves animals and she likes her job very much. She talks to the animals and the animals understand(理解) her. The animals are always happy when they see Ms. Lee. Every day, man people come to see the animals in the zoo. But some people do not obey (遵守) the zoo rules. They go near dangerous animals like lions or tigers. Some people litter. When people do these, Ms. Lee will stop them.

Yesterday was Children's Day. Gary didn't go to school. He had a wonderful time with Ben and Susan. In the morning, they went to the zoo by underground. It took them about half an hour to get there. There was a dolphin show in the zoo. The dolphins were cute and smart. Gary and his friends loved the dolphins. After lunch, they walked to the science museum. They got to the museum at half past one. There was a robot show! They saw many different kinds of robots there. They learnt a lot and had much fun!

Our city is a beautiful place. There are clean streets. On both sides of the streets, there are many tall trees. They make the city beautiful. There is a river through our city. The water is clean, but it was dirty before. Some people threw rubbish into the river. And there was a factory near the river. The smoke from the factory had a bad strong smell. But now people know that clean air and water are very important to their health, so they don't throw rubbish into the river any more. The factory doesn't release any dirty smoke now.

The green and brown parts on the map are forests and land. People live on the land and wild animals live in the forests. The blue parts are the oceans. There are five oceans on the Earth. They are all very big. People can get different kinds of seafood from the oceans. They are all delicious. In the past, there were many fishes in the oceans. The oceans are getting dirty. We should stop throwing rubbish into the oceans. We should protect the oceans, the forests and the land because the Earth is our home.

 Max is my best friend. He's my neighbour too. We live on the same street. We knew each other when we were very young. Max was very short when he was a little boy. But now he is tall and handsome. He likes fishing. He always goes to the beach and fishing. Yesterday I went with him. We had a good time. He also loves wild animals. He likes watching birds best. He sometimes goes to the country to watch birds. Max is an interesting young man. 

I went to see a film with my mother yesterday. The name of the film was Snow White. It was about a beautiful princess and a handsome prince. I wanted to see this film for a long time.

I went to the cinema from school and my mother went there from her office. So we met at the underground station. But after I got to the station, I found I didn't bring the ticket! I had to go back to get the ticket. When we got to the cinema, we were late for about an hour. What a terrible day!

Carol: Hi, Julia. How was your weekend?

Julia: It was wonderful. I stayed at home all day and read a book.

Carol: A book? What was it about?

Julia: It was about rabbits. It was interesting.

Carol: Rabbits? What did the book say?

Julia: Rabbits' eyes have different colours. White rabbits have red eyes. Black rabbits have black ones. Gray rabbits have gray eyes!

Carol: Ah! The colour of rabbits' eyes are different! I can't believe it!

Julia: That's true! And rabbits can see clearly at night!

Carol: That's super! It's really an interesting book. Can I read it?

Julia: Of course. Go with me!

Carol: Thank you! I can't wait to read it!

My parents and I spent our holiday in Tokyo last week. We went there by plane. It took us about three hours to get there from Shanghai. Tokyo is the capital of Japan. It is in the east of Japan. It is a modern city. We went to Ginza. There were thousands of people on the street. We enjoyed shopping in different kinds of department stores there. My father bought a camera. My mother bought a coat. I bought a watch. We tasted sushi in a famous restaurant. It was really nice. We all had a good time in Tokyo.
