Amal is a little girl. But she is 3. 5 meters tall. In fact, Little Amal is a puppet (木偶) . She walked around the city of Rome, Italy, on Sept 12.

In her story, Little Amal is a young Syrian refugee (叙利亚难民) . Her mother went off to find food and never came back. She goes to look for (寻找) her mother. There are about 26 million (百万) refugees in the world. More than half of them are under the age of 18，according to the United Nations.

Little Amal is part of an art project (项目) called The Walk. From July to November, she will travel 8000 kilometers through (穿过) eight countries. She started in Turkey and will end (结束) her walk in the UK. Little Amal "walks" with the help of puppeteers (操控木偶的人) .

Some of the puppeteers are refugees themselves.
