It was sunny yesterday afternoon. While I was sitting in the park, there was an old man 1walking around. I heard him telling people that he was 2 and couldn't find the way back home. "That's easy," John said. He took the boxes of sweets and left the office.

Every day and every day he went from shop to shop, trying to sell the sweets. But he couldn't sell one. The sweets were too bad for him to sell. At the end of the week he went back to the manager, "I'm sorry, sir," he said. "I was wrong about myself. I'm not the best salesman in the world, but I know who is."

"Oh," said the manager. "who?"

"The person who sold you a thousand boxes of the sweets."

Many years ago, there lived a very rich man who wanted to do something good for the people of his town. But first he wanted to find out if they deserved(值得)his help. So he put a very large stone (石头) in the middle of the main road into the town. Then he stood behind a tree, waiting and watching.

Soon an old man came along with his cow. "Who put this stone in the center of the road?" said the old man, but he didn't try to move the stone away.
