My family makes the best chicken salad. Dad prepares(准备) all of the ingredients and Mom makes the relish. There are a few things that make this chicken salad different from other chicken salads.

First, we use fruit jam(果酱) in the relish. You can buy any fruit jam, like banana jam or orange jam. But we have bottles of strawberry jam that my mother made, so we use the strawberry jam. Second, we put some green olives(橄榄). Green olives give the salad an interesting taste and make a big difference. Now let me tell you how my family makes the salad.

First, mix up all of the salad ingredients in a large bowl. The ingredients are chicken,

tomatoes, green olives, onions and apples. If you like lettuce, you can also put some. Next, make the relish. Please mix the jam, the juice and the salt. Finally, mix the relish with the salad ingredients.

Two years ago, my family moved to a new city and I had to study in a new school. As I had few friends there, I felt lonely. Then I met Tony. The first time I saw him, he was standing in the center of a group of students, telling jokes. The children around laughed from time to time. Tony knew about my problem. He asked me to play basketball with his friends and helped me with my studies. We soon became good friends. About a year ago, however, Tony's father lost his life in an accident(事故). As a result, his family had to move to a small house, Tony changed into a different person. He became silent(沉默寡言的) and he even lost his interest in studies. Several times, I invited him to go out and play basketball with me, but he refused. I wanted to help him, but didn't know what to do.

Then something strange happened in my class. Two classmates lost the money in their schoolbags. Last Friday, just before the P. E. lesson, I went back to the classroom to get my running shoes. The door was half open, I went in. To my astonishment(惊讶), I saw Tony was searching one of my classmates' schoolbags. I was shocked...

Many people today like exercise. Some like to run, and some like to walk. Others dance or play balls. They do different kinds of exercise. Why do people like exercising? It's good for their health. And exercise helps make them tired, so they sleep better at night.

You may like to run. If you do, take care of your feet. Make sure you have the right shoes. Some people like to run on roads, but they must watch out for cars.

Walking is a good exercise. You may take a long walk in the park. It's more fun if you don't go alone. Go with a friend. The two of you may have a great time.

Some people like to swim. But others don't like to go into the water. If you like this kind of exercise, make sure that someone is watching you. You must always take care when you are in the water. Jumping a rope(跳绳) or riding a bike is also good exercise.

There are many other sports. Find out what you like. You may need help at first. Some people often do exercise, and they can help you. Do exercise every day, and you will know what it makes you feel.

Once upon a time, there lived a rich man. He had a servant. He and the servant loved wine and good food very much. Each time, when the rich man left his home, the servant would drink the wine and eat up all the nice food in the house. The rich man knew what his servant did. He wanted to punish him, but he didn't get any proof(证据).

One morning, when he left home, he said to the servant, "Here are two bottles of poison(毒药) and some nice food in the house. You must take care." With these words, he went out.

But the servant knew that was not true. After the rich man was away, he enjoyed a nice meal. Because he drank too much, he was drunk and fell to the ground.

When the rich man came back, he couldn't find his food and his wine. He became very angry. He asked the servant to get up. But the servant told his story very well. He said,

"A cat has eaten up everything. I was afraid that you would punish me, so I drank the poison to kill myself.

It was the first term of high school. Our head teacher and Chinese teacher was a nice young girl. At her first lesson, she stood in front of our classroom for a while and said," I am a 'blind(失明的)'teacher.

"Impossible!" all the students were surprised and said, "How could you be a blind teacher?"

I am really a 'blind' teacher. I can't find my mistakes while teaching. So I would like you to help me find them with your bright eyes. I'm sure you can do it."

All the students listened carefully and tried to find her mistakes the whole lesson. A term later, we had got used to listening carefully to all the teachers. We learnt in this way until we finished our high school. Most students in our class went to college.

At the graduation ceremony (毕业典礼), we all took photos with her. I wrote something at the back of the photo: "You're not a 'blind' teacher. You are the wisest person in the world."
