It's always easier to say "Yes" because most of us want to please other people. Somebody asks you to go for a party but you have tests the next day, or to help them although you are busy at the moment, or to join the activities you have no interest at all! Even though your heart is crying NO, you find the word "Yes" come out of your mouth. However, it usually results in anger – not only for the person who asked you, but also for yourself for not being strong enough.

Lisa Messenger, the Collective Hub CEO, said in her first few years of business, many people asked her to talk over a coffee. Actually, she usually ended up having 20 coffee meetings a week and that stopped her from doing business because she didn't have time to do her own work.

Messenger finally learned to refuse like "No, I'm sorry, but I don't have time." She believes if you say "Yes", you will regret later. Or your heart will be filled with guilt (内疚), fear or anger because you feel bad for agreeing to do something you never want to. So you need to be brave enough to say "No" when you're asked at first.

Janine Garner, CEO of The LBD Group, believed we need to get very clear about our goals. Unless we work towards our goals, nobody else will care about our time. Garner said, "We may end up saying 'Yes' because we feel sorry for somebody who needs us. But we end up having that awful feeling in our heart. You can only achieve the best of you by stopping doing the things that take up your time and don't add anything towards your goals. Take a good look at the time spent on others, that you really should spend on yourself."

Facial recognition (脸部识别) cameras are everywhere, including in your smartphone. Many people use this technology to unlock their phones, open doors or pay quickly, but there is a problem – everyone is wearing masks. What a hassle!

Now, the companies have improved their technology. Facial recognition technology can now know people even if they are wearing a mask. Beijing-based tech company Hanwang has announced a software (软件) which can correctly recognize 95 percent of people wearing masks, Engineering & Technology (E&T) reported. What's the secret? It's all about your eyes. Marios Savvides, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University, US, studies facial recognition technology. As we get older, he said, our faces change shape, but not the area around our eyes. It stays the same – even if we put on weight.

Facial recognition software is about more than just unlocking your phone. It's about public safety. For example, you don't need to take an ID card, which can be lost or stolen. It also means that virus (病毒) isn't spread by touching things, said NEC's Shinya Takeshima. "Touchless check has become very important to COVID-19," he said to Reuters. "We hope to do something for safety and peace of mind."

More than that, facial recognition can be used to fight crime. "It can tell criminals and terrorists," said Huang Lei, one of Hanwang's leaders. Hanwang's technology is used by police in high-security (安全等级高的) settings. This means places like government buildings, subway stations and airports. Similar technology is used by the United States Air Force and other governments.

Huang talks about one big weakness of this technology. "It fails when people wear both a mask and sunglasses. In this situation, all of the key facial information is lost," Huang said to E&T.

(1)、The underlined word "hassle" probably means "       ".
    A、habit B、mistake C、rule D、trouble
(2)、According to the passage, we can learn that facial recognition technology
A、was invented by the company Hanwang B、depends on different shapes of faces C、provides a better way for safety checking D、has been widely used in American schools
(3)、It can be inferred from the last paragraph that        .
A、Huang Lei is worried about the new technology's cost B、the new technology can't store key facial information C、the new technology still needs to be improved D、the new technology doesn't work if people wear sunglasses

Some Ways for a Happier Life

Here are some scientifically proven but simple ways to get happiness.

Whether lending a hand or offering a handout, giving to others can make you feel better. A study from the University of British Columbia found that people who spent money on gifts for others or gave to charity reported being happier than people who spent money on themselves. Volunteering can make you feel good too. Giving your time to help others may lead to better health.

Listen to music.  According to a research from the University of Missouri, it works well if you actively try to be happier when you're listening. Scientists from University of London also found that people who listened to relaxing music are likely to look brighter than it actually was.

Keep a diary. It's really good to write down your feelings.  Little things like a nice cup of tea, watching a pretty bird in the garden or a phone call from a friend are worth thanking, according to Californian researchers.

Go outdoors. Lots of studies have found being outside makes you feel relaxed. If it's a green space, even if it's just your local park, that's better still.  According to a University of Sussex and LSE study, researchers asked people to number their happiness levels on an app and being by the sea on a warm weekend day came out top.

    A. Help other people.

    B. Plan your own journeys.

    C. But best of all is a visit to the beach.

    D. Relaxing music is good for your body.

    E. Write down the things you are thankful for.
