    It was National Day last week. Bob decided to visit Guangzhou and did 1 during the 7-day holiday. Guangzhou was famous 2 a modern and international city. 3 the morning of 1^st October, his plane 4 Guangzhou. He went to visit his uncle in Guangzhou and stayed at his uncle's home. He played computer games with his cousin for the whole afternoon.

    On the second day, he 5 three hours climbing the Mountain Baiyun with his uncle's family. On their way to the mountain, they took a lot of photos. And they also enjoyed some delicious food there at lunch time. After climbing the mountain, Bob was tired 6 he slept late the third morning. In the afternoon, they took a boat tour on the Pearl River. It made them so 7 . He could see the thin and tall station tower "xiaomanyao", and 8 tower was so beautiful. On the fourth day, he went back home to go over his lessons and finish his homework. 9 holiday it was! Bob is looking forward to 10 Guangzhou again.

     It was last Sunday afternoon. It was sunny. My little son Tom asked me to go to the court (庭院) to play1 with him. He is good at playing basketball. He said his good friend Jack would be there too. I agreed (同意) because I had2 to do. I also wanted to do some sports to relax myself. 

     On the way there, I bought a hamburger. When I3 the basketball court, I saw Tom and Jack fighting. They got on well with each other and4 fought. Later on, I knew that they were fighting because they weren't sure who should 5 the ball first. They were6 with each other. And then Tom and Jack started to fight. "Don't keep 7 !" I shouted at 8 . However, they would not stop.  

     I thought for a while, and then said, "Would you like to go to the coffee shop for a drink?" Hearing this, they9 fighting. We went to the coffee shop and I took out my hamburger at once. And I was so glad to see Tom and Jack share the food10 laugh once again. 

Welcome to Nanchong, a beautiful city with a long history. You will have a wonderful time here. There are many places of interest. Now let's look through some of them.

     In Canada you can find dogs, cats, horses etc, in almost every family. These are their pets. People love these pets and regard them as their good friends. Before they keep them at their houses, they take them to animal hospitals to give them needles (注射针) so that they won't carry diseases. 

     They have special animal food stores, though they can get animal food in almost every store. Some people spend about two hundred Canadian dollars a month on animal food. When you visit people's homes, they would be very happy to show you their pets and they are very proud of them. You will also find almost every family has a bird feeder in their garden. All kinds of birds are welcomed to come and have a good meal. They're free to come and go and nobody is allowed(允许) to kill any animals in Canada. If you killed an animal, you would be punished. If an animal happened to get run over by a car, people would be very sad about it.

     People in Canada have many reasons to like family animals. One of them might be: their family tie is not as close as ours. When children grow up, they leave their parents and start their own careers. Then the seniors will feel lonely. But pets can solve this problem. They can be good friends and never leave them alone.

Mike is a bus driver. He loves his job and works very . He works 8 hours a day, from 7:00 in the morning to 3:00 in the afternoon, but he is late for work. He always goes to work early and leaves late. He wants people to feel happy, so he cleans the bus every day to it tidy. He is happy every day and always hello to every person when they meet. He is very friendly and he is always to help others. All the people like him.

     Today he arrives at a very small bus stop. Usually he doesn't stop there，  no one gets off or waits at the stop. But one man  the bus tells him that  old woman wants to get on. He quickly stops the bus. The old woman is not far from the stop but she walks very slowly. So Mike waits for about two  . Then he helps  to get on the bus and wants to close the door. 

     "Please wait." The old woman says, "My mother is coming, too!" 

     Wisma Rudoph was an American player. When she was six years old, she couldn't walk because there was something wrong with her left leg. Every weekend, Wilma's mother drove her to see a doctor. She said, "My doctor told me I would never walk again. But my mother told me I would. I believed my mother." So she practiced(练习) walking day after day.

     When she was nine years old, she could run like other children. Later, Wilma joined a girls' basketball team. She did very well in it.  

In 1957, Wilma Rudolph went to university. She joined the sports team there. She often practiced running with her teammates. In 1960, she went to the Olympics. She won two gold medals: the 100-meter and the 200-meter race.

     In 1977, she wrote a book about her life named Wilma. The book was then made into a movie. She created the Wilma Rudolph Foundation (基金会)in 1981. It helped the children who wanted to become sports players. She died in Tennessee in 1994. American people think she is so great and successful.
