Sports in American middle and high schools are very important. Most schools have many sports team like soccer, basketball, baseball, American football, tennis and field rocky（曲棍球）. Almost every student does some kinds of sports. American students watch TV at home and hang out（闲逛）on the street, too. Some students love playing video games and working on the computer. More than half of the girls（52%）like reading books right after school, but only more than a third of the boys（36%）like doing that.

Almost every day, we talk about health. But what is health? Health means eating well, getting enough exercise, and having a right weight（体重）. Let's read the following rules.

Many of us only eat our favorite food. Remember that we can only get what we need by eating different kinds of food, especially fruit and vegetables.

Drink water more often We should try to drink more water and less sugary drinks.

Listen to your body. When you are eating, notice（注意）how your body feels. When you feel full（饱的）, stop eating. If you do it too often, it can make you unhealthy and fat.

Limit（限制）the time you spend on the computer and TV. You can play basketball, walk or swim.

A boy has a fight with one of his classmates. Then he goes to his father and tells him what has happened. "He is really bad," the boy says, "and I hate（憎恨）him."

His father says, "Let me tell you a story. When I was a boy, I sometimes hated others for the things they did."

As the boy listens carefully, his father goes on, "There are always two tigers inside my heart（心）. One is good and kind. He gets on well with everything around him. But the other is bad and unfriendly. Even the smallest thing will make him angry. He fights with everyone all the time. He can't think carefully because he always hates others. It is difficult to live with these two tigers inside my heart. They both try to control（控制）me."

The boy looks into his father's eyes and asks, "Which tiger always controls you, dad?"

The man says slowly. " The one that I feed（喂养）. I always feed the good and kind tiger, so I never hate others and seldom（很少）get angry now."

Many people like to keep pets. Pets are and cute animals. But do you know about pets? All pets need good care. You have to be friendly them and play with them. You must get them the right food and enough space（空间）to in. Some pets need special food and have other special needs . They also need to keep healthy. There are many other things you need to know, so you get a pet, learn about what in needs. Then you can have one.

It's not easy to keep pets. But if you are kind and patient（耐心的）, you can have fun with them.
