    Hailey kept thinking about the man and what it was like to be hungry. She knew that fresh fruits and vegetables often aren't available (可获得的) at food banks, where homeless people may get canned or boxed food. Hailey had an idea. "There was a garden in our backyard, and we weren't using it, "she said. “I asked my mom if I could use that garden to grow food for the homeless.”

    Now, several years later, Hailey's garden has provided many people with strawberries, blueberries, peas, tomatoes, and other fresh food. When food is ready to harvest (收获), Hailey picks, washes, and bags it. Then she and her mom give the bags to people on the street or to a local food bank. Hailey has given away more than 550 pounds of fruits and vegetables so far!

    While handing out food, Hailey and her mom often see people more than once. They lean their names and talk with people about what it's like to be homeless. Last week, when Hailey found out that people without homes didn't always have safe or comfortable places to sleep, she thought of a new project-building a shelter.

    With the help of her mom, Hailey built a shelter big enough for a person to sleep in. It has walls, windows, a roof, a locking door, a solar light, and curtains made by her sister, Josie. Hailey's family is now working with local groups to find a good place to park the shelter for someone in need.

    Hailey has learned a lot since she gave away her first sandwich. She has also leaned to see people who are homeless as individuals (个体). To help others, she says, "Start small. You can always grow over the years.

    Here's a movie called Life is Beautiful. The story happens in 1939. Orefice, a young man, is a Jew(犹太人). He's funny and clever, and falls in love with an Italian girl named Dora. Later, they marry and have a son named Joshua and run a bookstore together.

    Unluckily, they and many other Jewish families, are taken to a concentration camp (集中营) by German Nazi(纳粹党). In the camp, Orefice explains to Joshua that the camp is a game and he must perform the activities. Orefice also tells his son each of the activates will give them ports and the person who gets to 1,000 points will win a tank(坦克). The most moving is that the people in the camp also keep the lie(谎言) to themselves. Orefice tries hard to protect Joshua's innocence (天真). He even teaches all of the German children how to say "Thank you" in Italian. Though Orefice is killed at last, Joshua is alive when the allies (同盟军) arrives.

    The film shows us how to protect those we love in the face of difficulties. As the French writer Romain Rolland once said, "There's only one heroism(英雄主义) in the world: to see the world as it is and to love it." And this best describes the life and actions of our hero, Orefice.

    The USA is a very big country to visit, so choose carefully the places to see and the time to go. Bring a good map because you may want to travel around.

    New York and Washington D.C. are good places to visit in May or October. It's not too hot then. In winter there's a lot of snow.

    The best plan is to arrive in New England in September. The weather starts to get cooler and the trees start to change color. It's a good idea to bring your camera because you may want to take photos of the autumn leaves.

    4,000 kilometers away in Los Angeles, California, the weather is fine all year round. It's nice to see the sun in December! Bring your swimsuit because you might want to swim in the sea.

    In Seattle, in the northwest, it isn't very cold, but there's a lot of rain, so bring an umbrella. It's pleasant to visit Alaska in July and August but it might be cool in the evening. So remember to wear some warm clothes. But don't come in winter. It'll be dark all day and freezing cold.

It helps teachers check (student) homework more quickly. Also, teachers don't need (spend) much time on reciting(背诵) face-to-face. , they can just listen on WeChat. However, student, Ji Xiang is against it. He says, "As far as I know, boys are crazy about (play) games together on the internet while girls love to chat happily online for long.
