Today it has become the national bird of Guatemala, a country in Central America, as well as a symbol of freedom. It can also be found on its national fag, stamps and many other things. And the currency of Guatemala is" Quetzal".

However, the quetzal's home is getting smaller because people cut down the trees in highland forests and take away land for farming. Besides, some people catch or even kill quetzals for their tail feathers. Therefore, the quetzal is now in danger. To save it, countries are taking steps. For example, in Costa Rica, the government has set up wildlife reserves and passed strict laws to protect this jewel bird.

Just forget smartphones and smart glasses. One day, we might have smart tattoos. The company Newdealdesign came up with an idea for a product called UnderSkin. This device would look like a pair of tattoos on your hand, but it would in fact be a very thin computer implanted just below your skin. It would draw power from the energy of your body, and you could use it to open doors, monitor your health, exchange and store information, or even express your personality. UnderSkin is just an idea, but the technology will make it work. "We expect it is about five years from being real," says designer Gadi Amit.

Amal Gratlstra, a writer and businessman, already has a chip called a radio-frequency identifcation (RFID) tag, which is implanted in his left hand"I use it to connect with my computer. The company Intel is working on technology that would let you control your devices like computers and TVs with your brain. Dean Pomerleau, one of the researchers, explains, "We're trying to show that you can do interesting things with brain waves. Imagine being able to surf the Internet with the power of your thoughts."

Do you think implanted chips sound terrible or cool? Some doctors are afraid that people may hurt themselves with devices implanted. They argue that medical operations are meant to save sick people and not to give healthy people special powers. Others worry about hacking and privacy. Could someone hack in and steal your personal information, or even control your mind? On a more philosophical level, if you have a computer inside your body, are you still human? Or are you a robot?

Karie double-checked the words on her spelling test. If she got 100 points today, she would win her class's spelling competition and a brand-new dictionary. Also, Ms. McCormack had promised to do a handstand if anyone got a perfect score.

Ms. McCormack righted herself and presented Karie with her prize. It was a dictionary with the words: To Karie Carter, for her perfect score in spelling.

As soon as she arrived home, Karie showed Mom her spelling test paper and prize with excitement. "Well done, Karie." Mom hugged her.

Karie smiled widely and scooped up her cat, "Can you spell nicely, Casper? And quickly and honesly, and."

Karie threw the test paper into her schoolbag, rushed to her room and fell onto her bed. How could she tell the class she hadn't earned the prize after al!? That Ms. McCormack did the handstand for nothing?

Then, Karie thought back to the last time her mother had bought her brother Kevin a pizza after his school play. They had almost reached home when Mom realized that the shop keeper had given them too much change. "Let's turn around," Mom said. Had Kevin been right? If he had been right, then it wasn't her fault that Ms. McCormack had given her the prize. Shouldn't Ms. McCormack have been more careful when grading her test? Karie took out her pencil. If she put the missing "t" back in, no one would know.

The next morning, Karie got to school earlier than usual. Ms. McCornack was unlocking the classroom.

"I can't keep this. I misspelled honestly and you didn't catch it." Karie said with her head down, giving her teacher the spelling paper and the dictionary.

For a moment, Ms. McCormack stood silently, reading the words on the dictionary. Then she took out her pen, crossed out the word perfect and wrote honest before retiming the dictionary to Karie.

Karie's jaw dropped. "I get to keep this? Honestly?"

"For honestly, no." Ms. McCormack smiled. "But for honesty, yes."

    Tang Hongfang got up early and arrived at Oujiang Road at around 7:00 am. It was sunny and there were beautiful clouds in the (天空). About 5000 people were waiting for the start of the 2020 Wenzhou Marathon. Its (整体的) standard is running for about 26 miles. Soon the competition began.
