    I'm writing a letter 1 you in my school. It's a big middle 2. I'm in a big class. There are fifty students in my class. There are about 3 teachers in our school. My English teacher 4 Mr. Liu. 5 is a nice teacher. We go to school 6 Monday to Friday. There are four classes in the morning and two in the afternoon.

    We play games 7 four on Friday after class. I have many friends at school. One of them 8 America.

    She speaks English and Chinese. The others 9 Chinese. I like to play with them. We often 10 basketball together. That's my favourite game.

    Miss Lee is only twenty-one. She is tall and thin, and she has brown, long hair. She likes children and her teaching work.

    From Monday to Friday she stays at school and gives the children classes. She has much work to do, but she often plays games with her students after school. The children like her very much. On Sunday she drives her car to her father's house and stays with her father and mother. Sometimes she goes to see her friends on Sunday. She drives back to school on Monday morning.

    She likes singing, dancing and swimming. She's a nice teacher.

    It's easier to go downhill than to climb uphill, so it's easier to fall into bad habits than into good ones.  

    Bad habits do not come suddenly. They come little by little without one's being aware of their danger. Schoolboys first pick up little bad habits at school and on the street. When they cannot write their lessons, they copy from their schoolmates. If they see older（年纪更大的）boys smoking, they also want to learn to smoke. If they see their friends gambling（赌博）, they want to gamble. When they get older, the habits become stronger and stronger, so that they can no longer get rid of（摆脱）them. From copying, they learn to steal（偷窃）; from gambling, they learn to cheat（欺骗，行骗）.

    How necessary（有必要的） it is that we get rid of the bad habits at the beginning! Or they should overcome us in the end!

    Uncle Lee is coming to have dinner with us. Mum and I go shopping.

    We don't have any meat. We need to buy some. It's ten yuan a kilo before (以前). But now two kilos are sixty yuan. I say, “Mum, let's buy some fish.” Mum answers, “OK.” Fish is Uncle Lee's favorite food. We buy one kilo and a half. We also buy some vegetables and some chicken, but we don't buy any hamburgers. Uncle Lee doesn't like them at all. Mum also wants to buy me some apples. You know, I like apples very much. But we can't find any. We go home at a quarter to five in the afternoon.

    Mr. White looks out of his window.

    There is a boy at the other side of the street. The boy takes some bread out of a bag and begins eating it. There is a very thin dog in the street too. The boy says to it, "Come here, good dog. I'll give you some bread." The dog is hungry and goes to the boy, but he does not give it any bread. He kicks the dog. It runs away.

    Then Mr. White comes out of his house and says to the boy, "I'll give you a shilling（先令，货币单位）." The boy is happy and says, "Yes." "Come here," Mr. White says. The boy goes to him, but Mr. White doesn't give him a shilling. He hits him with a stick.

    The boy cries and says, "Why do you hit me? I don't ask you for any money."

    "No," Mr. White says, "And the dog doesn't ask you for any bread, but you kick it."
