    During the visit, the children saw pandas up close. They were very excited to see so many pandas at the same time. The children also traveled to the Mount Emei scenic area and met local schoolchildren.

    At last, they said, "The pandas are very cute, and we are all happy." They also said the children in Chengdu were very friendly to them, and they all liked there. They hoped to visit Sichuan again.

    Travelling is very interesting. Many people love travelling. There aremany ways to travel: by plane, by train, by ship or by car. Everyone has their favourite way.

    My favourite way of travelling is by car. I can bring my pet dog along. I can travel three hundred miles(英里) or only fifty miles a day. I can stop at a good restaurant to enjoy a good meal or at a hotel to spend the night.

    I love travelling by train best！It's very exciting. I travelled in most of Europe in 5 months by train. It's the best way to talk with the local(当地的) people and make new friends on the way. Trains make even the longest trip enjoyable. The train ride to me is just like a big moving party.

    I like travelling by ship. It is a very great way to spend a holiday. I can go to parties and watch films on the ship, and enjoy the blue sky and water.

    Lao She is the pen name of Shu Qingchun. He was born in 1899. At the age of 19, he became a (校长) of a primary school. Six years later, he went to England and taught Chinese there. He wrote the famous (戏剧) Teahouse in 1957. It (描述) the lives of (普通的) people. It tells us the story of Wang Lifa and his (顾客) . Lao She's plays, (小说) and short stories are (主要地) about people's lives, so he was (给……命名) "the People's Artist". Today, you can find his books in Chinese as well as in some other (语言) . He is really one of the greatest Chinese writers in the (第二十) century.

    There are about fifteen hundred languages in the world. But only a few. of them are very important. English is one of them. Many, many people use it, not in England and the USA, but also in other parts of the world. About 400, 000, 000 people speak it their own language. It is difficult (say) how many people are learning it as a foreign language.(million) of people are trying to do so. Is it easy or difficult to learn English？Different people may have different（answer）.

    The only language that seems easy to learn is the mother tongue. We should remember that we all learned our own language when we were children. If we could learn English the same way, it would not seem so difficult. Think of a small child does. He listens to what people say. He tries what he hears.

    So it is hard to say that (learn) English is easy. We must do a lot of practice. And practice needs great efforts(努力) and takes much time. Good teachers, records, tapes, books, and dictionaries will be(help) , but they cannot do the student's work for him.

    Mike is the manager of a computer company. He is going to Shanghai for an important meeting.
