But men spend just 50 minutes shopping and cover just 1.5 miles.

    The brain is the boss of the body. Your eyes, ears, nose, and skin tell your brain what is going on around you. Other parts of your body tell your brain what is going on inside you. Your brain takes in the signals. It tells your body what to do with them. When you touch fire, your skin tells your brain that your finger is too hot. Your brain tells you to move your finger. All these happen very fast. Your brain also controls your breathing, blinking, and heartbeat. It becomes your feelings and thoughts too.

     Humans have the most developed brain of all animals. Yet it is not the largest brain. The human brain weights three pounds. The brain of an elephant weights 11 pounds. So the largest brain is not always the best brain. In people, a large brain does not mean a clever person.

Some people just cannot decide what to do all by themselves. They often ask for the advice of their friends. But they never do as their friends have said. My friend Jack is such a person, and he is always asking me for help. I try to help him as well as I can. But he never listens to me. Yesterday I tried a new way to make him take my advice. It worked. “Look,” he said, showing me a letter. “What do you think I should do?” The letter told him that there was a good job for him. It seemed to be a good chance for a young artist. His teacher would send him to Australia to work. The job would pay very well, and he would be able to travel and visit many interesting places. “What do you think of this, Rose?” he asked. “If I take the job, I will have to stay in Australia for two years. I may stay a bit longer. But it would be a wonderful time for me. Should I go. Rose?”

When you go shopping and want to buy some clothes, you should think about which kind of clothes really need and decide how much money you can spend on them. Then look at the labels that are inside the new clothes. They tell you how to take care of the clothes. The label for a shin may tell you to wash it in warm water. A sweater label may tell you to wash it in cold water. The label on a coat may say “dry clean only” and cleaning in water may ruin(损坏) this coat. If you do as the directions say on the label, you can keep your clothes looking their best.

    Many clothes today must be dry-cleaned. Dry cleaning is expensive. When buying new clothes, you had better check if they need to be dry-cleaned. You can save money if you buy clothes that can be washed or that are well made. Well-made clothes last longer. They look good even after they have been washed many times.

    Clothes that cost more money don't always mean they are better made. They may not fit you, either on the other hand, less expensive clothes may sometimes look better and fit you well.

    One day, a lobster(龙虾) met a hermit crab(寄居蟹)in the deep sea. They stopped (swim) and began to have a talk with each other.

    The lobster (take) off his hard shell and showed his lovely and soft body. When the hermit crab saw the lobster take off the shell, felt surprised. He shouted at the lobster and wanted to stop the lobster.
