In fifth grade, my backpack was stolen from my dad's car, which had my binder (活页夹) with a few valuable stories that I have been working on for quite a while. I was very devastated. Then I decided to go to school with absolutely nothing.

My 5th grade teacher, Miss Taylor, was really sweet, understanding and kind to me. She gave me an extra binder that she had, and to help personalize it, she got out a piece of paper, and started writing my name in a cool letter style. I was deeply moved by what she had done for me that day.

But here's something even better. Later that same day, Miss Taylor had gotten a call from the office and told me exactly this “Zoe, A wonder has happened! Someone found your binder!” And I ran down to the office, and got my binder. It was really packed full, because the person that had found it had collected all written works and put them inside of my binder. When I opened it, an envelope fell out. On the back of the envelope was “I'm sorry all your things got stolen, but I hope this helps.” I opened the envelope and it had $20 in it.

If something bad happens or if life lets you down sometimes, there are always lots of people out there that are kind, and can bring back faith and hope to humanity.

(1)、What does the underlined word “devastated” mean?
    A、Moved. B、Shocked. C、Sad. D、Content.
(2)、What did the stranger do to help the author?
A、He bought her a new binder. B、He called to lend the binder. C、He helped personalize the binder. D、He brought back a fully packed binder.
(3)、Why did the author write the story?
A、To express her sincere appreciation. B、To share her unlucky experience. C、To remember her teacher's kindness. D、To introduce the stranger's generosity.

We all need to eat. So, meals could be a chance to stop what we're doing and spend time with the people in our lives. A recent study from a team of South Korea suggests that eating together has many good effects on children and teenagers while frequently eating alone may lead to poor eating habits and poor food choices. People who eat alone more than twice a week have a greater risk of developing high blood pressure.

There are benefits of family dinners on children and teenagers.

In 2014, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) looked at data from nearly three-quarters of the world's countries. Among its findings is the fact that students who share a main meal with their families are less likely to hate school. Children who eat a main meal with their families are also less likely to take drugs (毒品).

In the report, titled “The Importance of Family Dinners (VIII),'' researchers say that teens who have frequent family dinners are more likely to say their parents know a lot about what's going on in their lives.

Another study from the University of Montreal finds that children who eat with their families experience long-term physical and mental health benefits. These children are physically in better shape and drink fewer sugary soft drinks. These children also seem to have better social skills and are less violent.

One of the researchers, Pagani, involved in this study is a professor at the university. She says that mealtimes with parents possibly provide young children with firsthand social events, which helps them have better communication skills.

(1)、Why is eating meals alone frequently bad for people's health?
A、Because people will get a chance to make friends. B、Because people will have a risk of heart attack. C、Because people will show no interest in food. D、Because people will develop poor eating habits.

Understanding body language can lead to closer relationships. Noticing the signals that people send out with their body language and being able to effectively read them is a very useful skill.

Watch for crying. Usually crying is considered a sign of sadness, but crying can also be an expression of happiness.  Thus, when judging crying, you'll need to look for other signals to determine the real meaning of the crying.

Look for signs of anger. Signs of anger include v-shaped eyebrows (眉毛), and wide eyes. Arms tightly crossed over the other is a common sign that the person is angry and is closing himself off to you.

Studies have found that when people are engaged in an interesting conversation, their eyes remain focused on their partner's face about 80% of the time.

Look for expressions of embarrassment. Embarrassment can be signaled by turning the eyes or head away, and forcing smiles. If someone looks down at the floor a lot, they are probably shy, or embarrassed. People are often thinking and feeling unpleasant emotions when they are in the process of staring at the ground.

Notice any sense of pride. People express pride by showing a small smile, moving their head backward, and putting their hands behind their backs.

As a general rule, people are best at reading facial expressions, and then body movements, and, finally, personal space and touch.

People are generally better at reading body movements that are pleasant rather than unpleasant. One study finds that individuals are better at accurately interpreting (领会) happiness, and excitement, compared to anger, sadness, and fear.

    A. Read interest from eyes.

    B. Look for signals of anxiety.

    C. However, different body movements have different meanings.

    D. Down-turned mouth is also a sign of being angry.

    E. People also tend to look down when they are upset.
